What even is the big six though? It's not the best six. Is it revenue? Would Villa even match Spurs' revenue if they went down?

All the cunts who wanted into the Super League.

The reason we went back up both times was because of those who stayed and fought plus a unifying manager and captain.

I can’t see that Spurs have this.

They haven't got a Kevin Nolan to their name.

Not sure it started that way, it's probably become the reason the term has been hung on to in recent years.

The origins of the 'big 4' in the 2000s then the 'big 6' in the 2010s was based on league position trends (which obviously affects revenue and vice versa):

They might not, but I think they'll need three wins minimum. I can see West Ham winning three looking at their fixtures.

Their home game with Forest in a couple of weeks is massive - both for the points and momentum.

I dont think they go down. They win 1-2 games and that is enough.

They will be lucky to get that, I watched it last night.  Its a mess, total mess.

I've only just started believing tbh, that gap is now fairly small and the teams behind them are together and playing for their managers.

Although looking at form, Forest are LDLLD. Feels like they've been playing better than that. Spurs are of course LLLLL whereas West Ham are WDDLW.

It'll probably be quite close but Spurs need a big performance soon to galvanise themselves, otherwise all of their fixtures look precarious.

As novel as a spurs relegation would be, they would almost certainly canter back to promotion.

Actually feel sorry for their fanbase as the vibes around the club are pure Mike Ashley, and all the Spurs fans I work with  are sound.

The Spurs fans I speak to have already accepted that they are down, despite the implied probability suggesting otherwise.

They are a mess. But some of the opponents have nothing to play for. Their away games are max 1 point though. So Forest game is huge.

I think we will lose to Forest away though.

I wouldn’t want to see Spurs or Forest relegated (…apart from increased, though still small, chance of us picking up a couple of desirable players). Less arsed about West Ham (still retain a little ‘80’s antagonism towards them). Wolves not at all bothered. Promoted teams have in the main broken the mould this year. I had them all as bang favourites to return to whence they came; quick smart.

I get the whole "Big 6 going" down justice angel, but I don't want us to go all Villa fans on this and getting overly gleeful. There is no historic rivalry, they just don't mean that much to us (or us them) for me to be that bothered.

I hear you, but I am *so* bothered about the cartelisation of the premier league, and in particular its impact on us, that anything that happens to undermine it or hopefully over time blow it up, is a source of absolute joy.

No historic rivalry but Levy did his best to both scupper the takeover and then led the charge on implementing the new rules to hamstring us.

So, in summary, fuck Tottenham Hotspur.

The ultimate rhetorical question.  Of course it’s revenue.  Leicester has won as many trophies as Spurs this century

Their owners have spent years trying to fuck us and the rest of the league - so fuck them.  The funniest part of them going down is the laughable notion that the cunts thought they didn’t deserve to even be relegated from a European Super League, never mind the English top flight.  I’ve nothing more against their support than any other club I don’t care about, but their owners can get to fuck.

If they can avoid batterings and pick up the odd few results, the GD could be enough to stay up by the skin of their teeth. I’m not sure where those results will come from, like but the reality of the situation will have fully set in last night

Purely and simply REVENUE.

Clubs that were willing and able to build up their income prior to the PSR regulations that would have prevented them doing that, exactly as the regulations are preventing us (or slowing us down) from doing the same thing now.

Of course we could have done the same as the six members of the Cartel did, at exactly the same time that they did, but our owner at the time was specifically and deliberately very much against doing that, as we all remember.

So, yes, the 'Big Six' are those clubs that increased their revenue/turnover/income, when clubs were allowed to do so.

It is these days, and although you'd expect Spurs to take a big hit on revenue for going down it's more about the optics of saying big six and including a team not even in the PL.
