Nobody
Walcott on the right, Milner on the left. Don't think Carroll was expecting to get fewer crosses to work with playing for England than he does playing for us
J7
He shouldn't be playing. He should be protected for the game at Bolton on Saturday. Fuck England!

Dr Venkman
Hope the young lads impress tomorrow, especially Carroll; and if they don't, they're not immediately and outrageously discarded as "not good enough" by the media and the likes. excellent avatar
colinmk
Just play for Scotland ffs Andy. With your head and Charlie Adams left foot we can take over the world!
Shak
Disgrace if he plays. It's a fucking friendly FFS, shouldn't even be a debate about it.
Dave
He's going to start and come off at half time. Injured.
McCormick
Disgrace if he plays. It's a fucking friendly FFS, shouldn't even be a debate about it. A good performance will almost undoubtedly land him a start in the next competitive match; something I can imagine Carroll is dying to be involved in. The club has already displayed its trepidation, but the question is will Carroll put the clubs best interests ahead of his international aspirations, or will he risk further injury trying to cash in on what he might see as a glorious opportunity to get himself into the England set-up? You would hope he would exercise a bit of discretion and pull out until he's fully fit, but the prospect of leading the line for your country at 21 might be seen as too good an opportunity to pass up. FWIW I think he'll play, run himself into the ground and sideline himself for three matches afterward.
Guest Antec
He's going to start and come off at half time. Injured. Long-term injury to Carroll and relegation becomes far more likely
Colocho
Hopefully this ''injury'' was an attempt to stop him playing tonight.

Foluwashola
Not sure if Carroll will be happy with us trying to stop him from playing. Still, England/FA can fuck off.
Dinho lad
I fucking hate England/FA.
Guest Roger Kint
Not sure if Carroll will be happy with us trying to stop him from playing. Still, England/FA can f*** off. Carrolls feelings wont even come close to how pissed off/gutted we will all be if he breaks down because of this mind, we simply cant afford to lose him. Liam Liam Liam O
If it's true, the club should probably pull the article on .co.uk about him making his debut.

Liam Liam Liam O
Any excuse to have a dig at the club Presumably people think he should just be allowed to play.
Liam Liam Liam O
Another PR nightmare Who for? Everyone apart from Carroll. No need for this to be in the public arena. What if the FA have refused the request, then he gets injured? People (including me it has to be said) would be criticising the club for not trying to pull him out. It appears they've got this spot on IMO.
wormy
Slightly dodgy source on NUFC wanting him not to play... no quotes, no club statement, nothing in public. Thank God someone else came in to say this. No quotes, no statement, absolutely nothing article from the Sun. How many times do we see these articles and laugh them off as ' yeah yeah, no quotes, no source, what a crock of shit'. Yet now we believe it? Skirge
FA doctors say he is fit club are trying are to say he's not.. its a total shambles.. I 100% understand why the club are worried about him but the lad has got his England call up and been told he will start its gota piss him off the club trying to stop that. If he's fit then he should and will play.
