Chris_R
Think my F5 key is on the verge of giving out. It's certainly not going to make it through to 11pm.
Hanshithispantz
The Liverpool board are clearly pissed like.
Zero
40m? They will be massively fucked if Carroll's turn out a bust. I can see that happening.
Dokko
£40m is huge, still don't want to sell him though. Mate this is the biggest mugging in football history. I get that he's vital for you lot but from a neutrals perspective, you've done them over big time. It is looking at him now, in 5 years it'll seem like a stroke of genius as long as he controls his temper down in liverpool. They can build a fantastic team around him and Suarez, lethal for years to come while we pay off debts and buy over priced shite as everyone knows we've got a wad to blow. Dan Gleebals
Carroll will be more expensive than Nedved, Shevchenko, Vieri, Robinho, Buffon, Villa, Crespo and Figo, who all moved when in their respective primes. Jesus When you put it like that, you would have to laugh. Then cry at the very fact that the 40M would never see its way into our squad in time to ensure we stay in the premier league (which could well cost us the 40M we get sent down again). Net result we are back to where we started minus one of our best players.
Yorkie
If he becomes as good as he could, £40m is barely worth having. We'll only piss it away when Liverpool could have England's very best striker on the books for the next five years. We don't need to sell him. We really don't need to. I still wouldn't, even for that price.

That money is ridiculous, he's nowhere near that value but then again I still be gutted if he leaves. Shrewd piece of business though.
Ronaldo
We once again appear to leaving a January transfer window considerably weaker than when we entered it. There's no justification whatsoever.
Hanshithispantz
Some shameful sentiments from people on here, obviously money is the most important thing in a lot of your lives. What a fucking stupid comment
Guest axel
MirrorFootball: Andy Carroll supposedly at Newcastle airport, bound for private jet (not helicopter) to Liverpool. Source close to his agent ffs , could be jackanory Can someone please call in a bomb threat to the airport?

Jayson
He'll be only be cheaper than Cristiano, Zlatan, Zidane and Kaka. What a list. Thats bizarre enough on its own. Let alone when you consider how quickly hes reached this valuation, quickest rise in value in history by far
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
IF I was AC i'd be going to Liverpool and wanting at least £125k a week. If the club are prepared to smash the transfer record for a british player i'd want them to pay me wages to match so would want to be paid the same as the likes of Gerrard etc. That's the next thing like. £40m fee. Hours left to agree a contract. Liverpool will be throwing huge money at him just so he'll sign.
Beren
Bit saddening, all this. Any truth/reliability to the rumour of Carroll wanting to go to Anfield?
Away Toon
If we have to match the Rats salary offer to keep Carroll we should. Isn't Ashley worth a lot more money than the Liverpool owner anyhow? If this goes through I'm going to see a psychiatrist and have this ridiculous illogical love and support for NUFC removed from my psych and replaced with support for a club that is well run, ambitious and might one day win something, which means just about any other club in existence. Foluwashola
Liverpool mugged Ashley Losing Carroll If Carroll fulfils his potential and delivers for the next 10 years, have Liverpool really been mugged?

Guest neesy111
If we had a replacement of decent quality ready to sign, then 40M is too good. But the questions of whether pardew will see the money will be speculated on and probably be true. So still NO Deal Noel.
Guest toonlass
I'm just gutted tbh. I know £40 million is a lot of money but it just feels shite. Selling a local lad, no replacement looking likely. Just gutted man.
Chris_R
Hands up if you trust Pardew to spend £40m wisely... (assuming he's given it all to spend, that is)

ploppy43
How can it be a shrewd piece of business if he's worth £35m at 22 what would he be worth after a few England caps and at say 25 years old??
