West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Recommended Posts

Don't care what anyone says, it is completely f***ing obvious to me that Ashely was always wanting to sell him. 35m pissed against the wall in one of his casinos no doubt, f*** off you prick. If the club had rejected the bids, he would of stayed.

I'm not sure that's true.

How many times has the 'official line' been proven to be absolutely false, though? Ask yourself that, and then ask yourself how everyone involved in this whole transfer saga comes out smelling like roses to the people they want to smell like roses to, and surely you have to be somewhat suspicious. If you're not, like I said, you're incredibly naive.

I'll ask again, why would Carroll go along with it? Or is that too naive of a question for you to answer?

Money up front. Agent pressure. Who knows.

Exactly.

How come everyone is so eager to believe the official line in this story? Look at all the major things that have happened to this club over the past 3 years, look at the official line and tell me that it's been an accurate narrative of what actually transpired. Look at KK's firing. Look at the Milner shit. Look at Hughton's sacking. Look at Pardew's appointment. For fuck's sake, Golfmag had posted that it was planned for weeks in advance, yet the official line never mentioned it. Ashley might seem dumb but he's not.

So what's everyone else at the club going to think about this?! We sell our young protégé, top english goalscorer, someone the team was meant to be built around... why is anyone going to want to sign a contract now, what's the point, we have no ambition. We have no resolve, our group doesn't matter?

Its basically saying to everyone at the club, 'we need you all, unless we can find a cheaper replacement and make some money off you. That club you thought Newcastle United was, doesn't exist any more'.

That felt heart-wrenching to read, mainly because it's all completely true.  :sadnod:

Other things the tribunal cleared up are:

    * Keegan was never offered a chance to settle for £4m as reported in the press.

    * The club admitted at the tribunal that it intentionally misled the press, public and fans of Newcastle.

    * The club’s claim that Keegan used the Nacho incident as a ‘convenient excuse’ to walk out was not true.

People blaming Carroll are just stupid and ignorant there are no other words to describe them. Well actually there are.......

If Ashley didn't want to sell him he wouldn't have. Atletico Madrid didn't want to sell Aguero so they didn't despite the Spuds rumoured 38M offer. If NUFC weren't prepared to sell Carroll I don't believe for one minute he would have left or wanted to leave.

On what? Proven, top quality players and the best youngsters (like Carroll) just wouldn't sign for us due to our lack of ambition, status our wage structure and geographical location. So we're left with either second rate or unproven players, most of who have every chance of ending up a surplus to requirements drain on the wage bill.

And this is key

Now I know how my dad felt in the 80's when we were selling Gazza, Pedro and Waddle.

Absolutely sickening.

Funnily enough I have mentioned that in another thread & I really don't feel that sort of pain & upset over this deal compared to when them players left.

Quoting this for everyone who has eaten up the official line today.

Because Andy Carroll handed in the transfer request, Andy Carroll is on his way to Liverpool to discuss terms.

Yes we probably could have done more, but the suggestion that the transfer request was anything other than Carroll having his head turned is madness. He ultimately made the decision to leave, not Ashley.

What are the conspiracy theorists going to do if Carroll doesn't come out and contradict the club's claim that he handed in a transfer request? As surely if he hasn't, he'd want to set that straight.

Also, can they please make their minds up about whether Ashley's an idiot or an evil genius, he' can't be both, you know.

Finally, for those talking about lack of ambition. If we're lacking ambition, then what the fuck does that say about Liverpool who are getting rid of Fernando fucking Torres!!! :o and replacing him with Andy fucking Carroll!  :cheesy:

He'll have been paid enough money and signed enough agreements to not come out and set the record straight.

I've answered that question about ten times in this thread. £££, and the feeling of not being wanted, saying f*** you to Ashley, confidence in his own abilities etc. These are all things that would affect him more than 'oh noes, I'm going to alienate some people who I never interact with in my daily life, oh my life is going to end!'. Like I said, he can afford to come back to Newcastle. He'll have a house to stay in, he'll have friends to spend time with. If he was jeopardising that, then he'd probably not go. He just might have to avoid partying in Newcastle for a bit, until this whole thing calms down. I bet if he actually comes back a few times and is seen out in the town, people will get used to it and the fuss will die down.

Hahaha.... you've got an imaginative mind, mate.

Force him to stay, he would probably think twice and decide to stay, offer him £60,000+ pay rise.

To be fair, even if true why would he want to do that? He'd be effectively telling his new employers and their fans that he didn't want to go there.
