However it's not too early to say the following; if Ashley sanctions the sale of Carroll it will prove that he's the twat that most of all of us have always thought he was. Apart from the fact we could get relegated again this season, it will just show the complete lack of ambition that he has for the club and confirm that he will take all the money back out of the club that he can and no doubt sell it at the first possible opportunity. Secondly Carroll could actually say no and refuse to be transferred. Liverpool are currently no better than we are and show no signs that they will become a top four club again in the near future. He's a Newcastle lad why would he want to go there? If it was Barcelona we would all understand it, maybe Man U or Chelsea but bloody Liverpool give me a break. I'd not have too much problem in Carroll going if we got a decent replacement in, but Bothroyd isn't the man to fill ACs boots and I can't see who else we can go for at this late stage.
