It's £35 million! Imagine what we can do with that?! How does anyone know it won't be reinvested?

OK, let's bump this post after the summer window, shall we, then we can discuss the £35 million worth of players we'll have and how great they'll be for the team.

Got to love the delusion of people thinking this money will be reinvested in the squad to a decent degree. I'll be stunned if we make any signing over £8m for the foreseeable future. A fee of £10m+ means big wages and then the rest of the squad want increases etc etc.

Not going to happen.

Yeah going on past trends is delusional.  Where as pulling opinions out of your arse is sound logic.

I am going on past trends.

No you aren't.

I don't think Andy was considering leaving until his agent tells him this morning that NUFC look to be serious about weighing offers for him from Liverpool and Tottenham and that he may have to put in a transfer request in order to get the 2x-3x salary increase that he'd probably get.

I firmly believe he was happy at our club and willing to stay, but when the club looked so eager to shop him around, I think he realized he had to do what was best for himself in an uncertain situation, and in order to guarantee his payday, was willing to submit the transfer request to make sure he got it.

Why the fuck would the club hawk around our best striker on the last day of the trasfer window, when there is a very real possibility that without him, season ticket sales'll be fucked, everyone'll be kicking off, and and being too late in the day to get in anyone decent, we could go down?

Everyone get a grip man, £35 million and he's decided he wants to go. How's that ashley's fault you utter morons.

It's times like this I hate being a Newcastle fan because 85% of our fans are idiots.

It's £35 million! Imagine what we can do with that?! How does anyone know it won't be reinvested? When has Ashley ever 'kept' any transfer fees?

I'd rather he wasn't going, but it's his choice, and I hope he's fucking shite, breaks his legs, goes to prison, and gets aids

And what about the possible domino effect? We could get relegated, and/or lose all of our best players because we haven't shown any ambition in the slightest.

I don't think it's Ashley's fault but I don't think we'll benefit from the transfer.

:sadnod:

Regardless, I still can't believe he left after we (and the squad) stood by him through the rough year that was 2010. Nolan must be pretty pissed off.

don't really see how they could've forced him into submitting a transfer request.

Tonights Chronicle and i bet they regret putting this shit up

ANDY CARROLL is hoping he will still be a Newcastle United player after the transfer window closes tonight after Liverpool lodged a late bid for the Geordie star.

However, a £30million bid was today rejected by United from the Kop side as fans went into the final day of the window nervous about the future of Newcastle’s talisman.

Carroll woke up to headlines that Liverpool had offered £30m for him as the Reds faced a fight to hold on to Fernando Torres, with Chelsea desperate to land the Spanish striker. But, just like Spurs’ offer of £25m, I understand this will be snubbed by Mike Ashley.

Carroll was on Tyneside today and expecting to be back in training this week at the club’s Benton HQ.

He received the all-clear from a Swedish specialist to resume a season that has seen him smash his way to the top end of the Premier League’s scorer’s chart.

A source close to the player said to the Chronicle today: “He’s in Newcastle and he’s going to be at the training ground today.

“That should tell you everything you need to know about whether he’s staying or going.

“He’s tired of saying how much he wants to stay.”

The player was preparing for a photo-shoot with Umbro in Newcastle today which pours cold water on talk that he was bound for Anfield – or anywhere else.

How many players have to contradict themselves before people stop being shocked? It's a career and a business.

No, football is more than a career and business.

Ian McGarry says he spoke to a premier league manager said he was offered AC LAST WEEKEND. He also goes on to say people who think this has just happened "all of a sudden" are wrong.

He's sure that we cashed in, and that theve played it well to place the blame on AC

Are you being serious? How is this anyone's fault but carroll's?

Did Ashley put the request in for him? Did he make Liverpool bid for him?

Like I said, I'd rather he wasn't leaving, but how you can blame the owner et al for this one is ridiculous

The whole ethos of the club is value for money. We don't sign big name players any more. If we spend this £35m it won't be on any top players like Andy Carroll. Therefore none of them will be in double figures. Fairly straight forward if you ask me.

Don't talk shite man

You really think all of that's going to go on the team? You only have to look at Ashley's track record to this point.

isn't his track record that he's put money in to keep the club afloat and for transfers ?

£35 million is insane money. The problem is the state of the team now for me. The club are absolutely bonkers if they don't get some players in now, having sold Carroll. The actual sale of Carrol for £35 million in of itself I can't really fault though, unbelievable by Liverpool. It's all about what happens next though. Can Mike Ashley really be crazy enough to sell him and not get anyone in this window?! My God he would be mental to do so, absolutely mental.
