joeyt
Best free kick specialist in the country? Needs to do it in the bigger games more, which is unlikely as hes a squad player. Id say Larsson (unfortunately) is probably a better set piece taker, as he gets the job done in the big games. Baines

morla84
Really glad he doesn't still play for Wigan and scoring these for fun for us now instead of against us. Excellent player to have for these kinda games!

TRon
Right-footed version of Rory Delap. A footballer only in the loosest sense of the word.
Cajun
Right-footed version of Rory Delap. A footballer only in the loosest sense of the word. Really harsh that, not a great player but since last season he has been dependable with the odd moment of brilliance. Delap has always been a pikey looking thing who would have probably been a more successful quarter back than footballer.
Hanshithispantz
He's not a bad footballer at all when he's played in midfield, I mean he's not a world beater but he's fairly comfortable on the ball and has a good right foot. I don't think he could be further from Delap as a player actually.

Darth Crooks
He's generally dump. Long throw and an eye for a free kick are quite impressive though you have to say.

Weezertron
Not a fan of all this talk about him starting because of a free kick, as canny as he is.
Leazes1986
I love the man, you can tell he loves playing here, he's made himself a cult hero and he accepts he is a bit part player. Very useful squad member, especially for cup competitions.

nufcjb
He is one of those players who has gone on with his job and despite harsh criticism from the fans, he has proved his worth and improved his abilities..was not that long when people said he didn't deserve to be here..same like James Perch.. womblemaster
`Pardew told the Chronicle today: “I genuinely think Ryan is pushing for a place. “He has good players in front of him, but we will see.” Read More http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2012/08/24/ryan-taylor-gives-nufc-boss-a-selection-dilemma-72703-31686951/#ixzz24XhIYKyh i really hope there is nothing in this!!! hope this is only motivational hot air from pardew...worried. HE is really clueless about team selections at times.
HongKongMag
Mostly motivational, but at the same time our squad isn't that big and we have 2 domestic cups, a european venture and a league competition. So I would not be surprised if Pardew rotates the squad and Taylor gets a good number of starts this season. Whilst I'd love to get a few more players in the door (re Debuchy & Douglas) I don't really think anyone can accuse Pardew of being clueless about team selection.. his team finished 5th last season and it's not like anyone of us could do better
