major major blow to the club if we get knocked back.  Just shows to show how much of a shambles the academy was under Shepherd when you think how much Ashley has already spent on it.

Bet Ashley will actually get the entire blame from a few (not on this forum).

Remember about a year ago, someone posted a few paragraphs about our academy having to play catch up due to the mismanagement and neglect it suffered over the years.

Sure it'll be up to scratch in a year or so with the amount of money and effort that seems to be getting put in to improving the structure of the club. Guessing that we missed out due to not having a place for the players to live or an education centre (think they're requirements, but could be making it up)

The question is still. What are we lacking in quality? To see it positive. This will really get us a kick in the back (if we should need one) and we will only come out stronger.

How much has been spent on it? Does anyone actually know the amount?

According to this article Mike Ashley spends 1.8 million, on the academy annually. It's worth pointing out that the academy is probably funded by the club also.

Meh, shirt seems alright to me.

Anyone fancy a sweepstake on which of these lot actually make it to the first team?

Someone with a suitably unspectacular name, like Steven Logan or Michael Riley.

A sign of things to come? Arghhhh.

Only a training top, not allowed additional sponsor logos in the Premier League.

Looking through our squad we have a lot of highly thought of youngsters around the 19/20 year old mark. Could really do with some loans if they are to make fulfil their potential.

To pick one out, for those who have watched what do you reckon the chances of Michael Richardson stepping up? ???
