Edit: 1-2.

Anyone watching it? Just checked, you equalized on 61, they scored on 62, they got two yellow cards on 64’ (one was a second yellow), then another yellow after a sub at 67’.

Manchester United are set to appoint Newcastle’s head of youth recruitment Paul Midgley to fill the same role at their academy, Confidential understands.

United have been looking to replace Luke Fedorenko, who is on gardening leave as he prepares to leave Carrington to take up a new job with an agency.

It’s understood Midgley has been chosen from more than 10 candidates after an extensive selection process. He joined Newcastle from Leeds three years ago and was previously UK scouting manager at Manchester City, where he worked with United’s director of football Jason Wilcox and new academy chief Stephen Torpey.

United might face resistance from Newcastle, who put up a fight when United made an approach for sporting director Dan Ashworth last year. Ashworth spent more than four months on gardening leave while United thrashed out a compensation deal with Newcastle, and ended up costing the club a total of £4.1million when he was sacked by Sir Jim Ratcliffe after just 159 days in the job, or £25,000 a day.

I dont know if there is such a things as consistency with all these youth positions. Seems so insidious and incestuous with staff jumping at the next pay check to a different club every other year.

The overarching club plan and implementation is most important. Then its less about having to start at the drawing board and more about finding the right person for our system. Hopefully thats where we are at because I believe we will replace him with someone solid.

.

That’s all I needed to know. Wilcox is a proper red flag, continuously goes for people he knows. Destroyed Southampton with that approach.
