Disco
Anyone else think the referee was surprisingly good to us last night? Makes a change like. Thought he had a very good game the referee. Gave decisions he needed to but let the game flow as much as he could for both teams. Credit to him.
BlueStar
Anyone else think the referee was surprisingly good to us last night? Makes a change like. No I thought he was a cunt. One of the linesmen was a proper cunt as well.
AyeDubbleYoo
Anyone else think the referee was surprisingly good to us last night? Makes a change like. Yeah, I didn't notice him at all, which generally means he was decent. (Although I didn't notice much except the nerve-shredding tension TBH)

Mowen
Harper 6 - important save, but rooted to his line too much. Beye 6 - Did well pushing on. Taylor 7 - better. And better than Colochini. Bassong 6 - Bit up and down, but solid enough. Duff 5 - not BAD, but not good either. Forgettable performance again. Guthrie 6 - Solid Butt 6 - Solid but not the quickest Nolan 6 - Solid, not the quickest, quicker than Butt. Jonas 4 - poor, out of position, without much guile. Viduka 8 - Good performance, knackered by the end! Owen 4 - rubbish. Probably his last game for us? On ths form, no great loss. Fuck knows what's wrong with Jonas, but he was not right last night. Owen was dreadful as well. Duff is not a left back, but he wasn't much cop going forward either in fairness. BUT, on the plus side (apart the result, obviously, and the fact that I got a chicken balti pie for once), Viduka, although marginally slower than tectonic drift, still has the ability to make the ball stick to him (sort of an anti-Shola). Guthrie, Butt and Nolan got stuck in, and the substitutions worked. If he was an anti-Shola he'd be quick too.

Guest Spark
What is Southgate going on about in his post-match interview? Deliberate foul on Afonso Alves, breaking his foot? It's clear from the replays that he just went over awkwardly.
Pilko
Southgate has talked a load of cobblers like since the match. Alves was fouled, was he? There was no-one within three yards of him. Also, we were lucky for the second goal because Nolan was offside. Lucky? I think you might say the momentum of a defender kicking the ball out of the goalies grasp and into the back of the net would be 'lucky' you ugly idiot. Btw, how much does Captain Planet look like Southgate http://whatsername7287.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/cpt.jpg

Guest Mucky01
the pitch looked in really good condition last night but how come our lot kept loosing their footing all the time, Jonas was the worst, he could barely stay on his feet. Can’t believe players can wear the wrong studs in a top flight game these days.

Guest
I see it's been confirmed Butt did break Alves' foot with that tackle. Tbh, I thought it was shocking. No intention of playing the ball, and probably worse than Barton's the week earlier, but "model-pro Nicky Butt" will never get such criticism. Doesn't look good on us though... Guthrie on Fagan. Nolan on Anichebe. Barton on Alonso. Butt on Alves.
