Forbes rich list value Mike Ashley at $1.1b on 11/3/09 which works out at £675.9m on todays exchange rates.

He has therefore made a loss of £1.2b

And therefore has more than the £500m I said :D

Not in pure cash you guppy.

Your still missing your point that you said he hasn't got that much money left. He has plenty.

Slow reading accountants? Hurry this s*** up please :(

Can sometimes take up to two weeks.

I secretly hoped those "two weeks" figures were reserved for multibillion dollar takeovers of global conglomerates and not the relatively simple by comparison books of a football club.  :(

What a complete idiot the NUFC Blog is. YOU CAN'T OWN TWO FOOTBALL CLUBS.

Since when? I think the rules only apply to english clubs not clubs from different countries. Still I'm not claiming he's not an idiot.

As a further indication of the financial chaos on Tyneside, Sportsmail has learned some Newcastle players will be heading into the Coca-Cola Championship on an increased salary in what appears to be a glaring oversight by club executives.

While the likes of Hull, Stoke, Birmingham and West Bromwich always make provision for relegation in any contract negotiations, Newcastle evidently saw no need to in their recent dealings. Players at most yo-yo clubs accept clauses stipulating wage cuts of up to 30 per cent in the event of relegation but Newcastle have agreed deals in the last year or so entitling players to annual rises, no matter what.
