Anderson
Gerrard's captain isn't he? Meaning he'll play every fucking minute.
Ashley17
I think centre half is one of the last areas we've got to worry about. It's going forward we seem to lack talent, ability, cohesion & skill.

Yep, our midfield, in particular, is shocking. All of our main/natural central midfielders (Lampard, Parker and Gerrard) are all over 30.
Fenham Mag
Only just realised Rooney has just had his best ever goalscoring season. I hope he is massive for us and that we get past the first 2 games unscathed.
Tiresias
Only just realised Rooney has just had his best ever goalscoring season. I hope he is massive for us and that we get past the first 2 games unscathed. It's an odd one because he hasn't quite seemed to be having an amazing season. It seems mainly because the burden of scoring has fallen on him mainly rather than spread more evenly, with Hernandez being injured and Fergie refusing to use Berbatov, but it's symptomatic of their season, scarily efficient, oddly unimpressive
Disco
I think Cahill's better. He's a far better partner for Terry anyway. The latter is why I'd play him ahead of Lescott, continuity and understanding means a lot at this level.

Cronky
If Hodgson picks the team according to the way he's given out the numbers 1 - 11, then it'll be - Hart Johnson Terry Cahill Cole Walcott Gerrard Lampard Young Rooney Carroll It's a fairly predictable first team apart from Gerrard and Lampard in CM. Haven't Chelsea tried Lampard in a holding role for parts of games recently? I'm not sure it'd work, but I'd actually like to see us give it a try against Belgium. The College Dropout
I don't rate Barry but he's better than Scott Parker and is more suited to international football. Neither works well in a 4-4-2 mind, then again neither does Gerrard.
STM
Gerrard being captain puts the England side in a straight jacket. That means he is going to play despite going into the tournament in the poorest form in his career. Lampard I can handle, if the team is built around his ability to find a goal. As much as I don't like Terry, having a Chelsea trio in the back four makes total sense, especially with their heroics in the champions league. AyeDubbleYoo
It's mystifying that Gerrard is starting for England, he's had a terrible season. Our midfield is rank TBH, only Young is (arguably) anywhere near the top of his game and I hate the diving little cant.

I can see Parker for Rooney in the first 2 games though in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation.
Guest Stephen927
Going to be the same old problems this summer, but Roy has the advantage of expectations being lowered so will get a fair amount of time in the job. Everything above getting out of the group is a huge bonus, unless we get a relatively 'smaller' side in the knockouts.

AyeDubbleYoo
The Best lineup the England Squad can produce is: Hart Johnson Cahill Terry Cole Parker Lampard Walcott Young Ox Carroll Would have to agree, at least when Rooney's out. There are a couple of players not on the plane that I would liked to have seen, but meh.
