Incognito
Hodgson has Graham Taylor written all over him. Glen Johnson should be nowhere near an England team, yet seems to be first name on the team sheet. Lampard and to a lesser extent Gerrard should be put out to seed , and he should also pick Welbeck more regularly . When we needed a goal last night, the last thing we should have done was swap left backs especially as the outgoing one is our best dead ball specialist. Sad to say but Englands future looks very bleak.
Pilko
What irritated me last night more than anything was that the players who control the midfield game if we're either level or in the lead (Gerrard, Lampard, Milner) all looked totally off the pace and yet none of them were replaced. We desperately lacked a bit of pace in the centre of the park. TBH, a point vs Ukraine at home isn't a disaster. They're the best other team in the group, if we take 4pts off them and Poland we should win the group.

Sad to say but Englands future looks very bleak. England's future is bleak, but it's really not Hodgson's fault. Our problem is the money obsessed PL ensures home grown players are going to struggle like fuck to get established. I read something the other day which listed the English central midfielders who played last weekend and were available for selection last night. This is it. Frank Lampard, Mark Noble, Steve Sidwell, Leon Britton, Lee Cattermole, Jake Livermore, Jonny Howson, Bradley Johnson, Leon Osman, Steven Gerrard, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, James Ward-Prowse. When your options are that limited, it doesn't matter who the manager is, he's not going to achieve much.
nufc4eva
Leon Osman should have been in the squad a long time ago. The technical and mental ability of English players is quite simply shocking when you look at other nations. You would expect our players to be better considering the players they play with at their clubs. There is no way Gerrard should still be in that squad, thought he looked horrific last night, slow, lethargic and well past it. Lampard pretty much the same - can't wait for wiltshire to come back in and hope Bigi fancies playing for England. We need energy in the centre and down the wings. Personally wouldn't pick Milner, don't think he offers enough. Chamberlain would play everytime for me with 1 of Walcott, Lennon or Sinclair. Thought we looked a bit better once Sturridge and Welbeck were on last night also. Novel idea up front but why does uncle Roy not give Graham or Holt a chance rather than play Defoe up on his own. As for right back - Micah Richards should be in there every time, with Steven Taylor alongside Cahill.

Guest Chubby Jason
Why should Glen Johnson not be anywhere near the team? Who is so much better than him to banish him from future squads? For the record I though we played OK last night, had we taken at least one of our easy chances we'd have won comfortably.

Give over, he got absolutely roasted repeatadly by Kono... in the second half. His saving grace is that he's quick so he can make up for being constantly caught up field. Saving that Walker is just as bad. RB in general worldwide their is a total dirth of talent.

Guest Chubby Jason
Micah Richards isn't that good despite the national outrage at his exclusion.

I didn't say that, I disagreed he was good last night. I'd play Richards when all options are fit but all 3 main candidates have serious flaws. I'd rather have Johnson over him as he's better in the final third than Walker.

Fenham Mag
Got to be said, he has been great when playing for England over the past decade. Ferdinand and Campbell both looked far more comfortable than he did wearing an England shirt.
