Watching the U21 match and the likes of Sterling, Zaha and Morrison all seem to think they are a cut above that level and are taking far too many touches. Massive contrast in decision making and end product between them and Shaw and Ward-Prowse.

I only saw the first half, but I thought Zaha played like a real prat. Very selfish and didn't use his brain. No wonder he's out of his depth at Man U.

I'd rather stick with Sammy.

Shame Vidal is out, he's been building up a nice cunty reputation for ITV commentators to cry about.

Read Medel will probably play in the middle meaning some joker will come in at CB.

England will score from a set-piece tomorrow.

Even if you just watch it for Chile's national anthem, then put it off.

Clarence

I never cease to marvel at how bad and shapeless some national anthems are. I mean, you'd have thought, after so many years, some musician in an entire country could come up with something better than that.

I changed my opinion on Italians recently. Met loads in Oz and they were the soundest guys I'd met. One of them thought Hatem Ben Arfa is one of the best footballers in the world.

He knows.

Apparently Juventus fans like us because of the colours, quite a lot.

Had a thought about going to the friendly tonight. The dismissed it like, it'll be shit.

How much does it cost to go and watch England these days?

If watching England didn't include taking a day (or two) off work and an overnight stay I'd be tempted to go down sometime.

Ticket Prices: £40, £35, £30, £25 (Family Enclosure - £20 Adults/£10 Children U16)

Thats for tonight. Was about £20 more for the qualifiers i think.

1998 (February 11) England 0-Chile 2 (Friendly).avi

on the Yoochoobz if anyone's feeling nostalgic.  Royston Hodgson in the studio anarl.

Hoddle's last game iirc, it was blatantly apparent he'd lost the dressing room, due to his odd reincarnation comments and Eilean Drewery's participation in his ethos, like.

Hoddles last was 1999. His ED comments were around the 1998 WC

Obviously I don't remember correctly :) but I do remember an abject England performance which was unusual for Hoddle's England. Looking at his team selection though I can see why. We were missing a few and both Phil Neville and Andy Hinchcliffe started.

Ours is the worst of the worst.

  Moderate in your opinions as always.

Our national anthem may be unexciting, but it has a beginning, a middle and an end and flows fairly naturally in between. That Chilean one - like several others - just wanders all over the place and is too strident.

Personally I wish we could nick the Welsh anthem. Honourable mention to the French too.
