Krul has severely benefitted from the bizarre correlation where the longer a player stays out of the team by injury, the better some fans think they are.

He was absolutely garbage for a year and a half before the injury, he was garbage when he went out on loan, nobody has wanted him.

He was declining undeniably, but it's hard to argue the replacements have done a much better job. All our GK options are garbage really, and we may well pay the price big time this season.

Howay man, UB. We almost survived the season we went down with Blob in goal and 2/3 of a season with McClaren at the helm. Yes they are all shit, but it's hardly the deciding factor this time

Such a weird move... we don't rate him higher than Rob Elliot but he's acceptable to one of our main rivals. Odd.

Former manager thinking he can get the best out of someone he's had in the past. Not that uncommon.

Doubt he'd move the length of the country unless he was given some assurances that he'll play

I don't think he will be replacing that Aussie but he's 2nd choice there rather than 4th here. Means he'll play in cups, and an injury away from starting.

Aye, at least he's in the first-team picture and at least involved in matchdays again.

I really don't understand Rafa's thinking regarding this, and i think he was being a bit of a prick with how he handled Timmy, i know he might not be as good as he used to be but i don't like seeing someone who has served us well for so long being treated like this, wish him nothing but the best.

Agree that he's been treated poorly, but the evidence of the last 2/3 years suggests he's no longer good enough.
