Tim Krul (now playing for Luton Town)

If Brighton was the best move he could get, that would suggest he's well past his best. He done well for us for a good while, best to remember those times and move on.

It would suggest he was just coming back from injury and clubs didn't want to take the risk. Hope he does well there after a good start last night

Why would Rafa want him gone then? I would think he knows Krul's situation better than most here.

Such a bizarre deal from our POV

In what respect?

We've sold a player that our manager doesn't (and never has) rate, reduced a further strain on our wagebill, weakened an opposition (based on the fact that our manager doesn't rate him), potentially bought in a nominal fee for him either through the loan or permanent transfer, got rid of one of our FOUR goalkeepers on the books.

It's almost like people have forgotten how much he was in decline pre-injury. I mean Rafa's only been at the club for a year and a half and had plenty of time to look at him in training or during the terrible loan spell he had in Holland.

Probably doesn't rate him. Good managers can get some things wrong

He won't be able to play, he's on loan until the transfer window opens in January.

From the official website:

Krul – who made his debut for Chris Hughton’s Seagulls in their Carabao Cup defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday, having initially joined on loan last month – could now feature for his new club when they take on United in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

You know something the club doesn't?

Surely we could have just waited a week to sort this out?

Why?

So he doesn't have the option of playing against us!

Noone here remember LuaLua?

Whether he's past it in peoples opinions or not they shouldn't of had this option! Unless we were suitably reimbursed for it..

That's him playing on Sunday.

Was just discussing this with a Brighton supporting mate - we think the deal could only go through permanently on January 1st, so still may not be eligible. Bit of a grey area one in all honesty.

Either way Ryan would start over Krul.

A transfer can happen at anytime, it’s just the registration of a player to a new club can’t happen outside of a transfer window. Because he was already on loan at Brighton it means that they don’t need to register him with the club. So the transfer will be completed, official, and importantly in this case, allowed.

Ryan is their first choice GK, don't see why Krul would start off the back of a cup game
