Just seen this on twitter... its 11 year today that he made his final public appearance, before the benefit match for his cancer charity.

Is that something in my eye?  :weep:

Mine too :(

A man of pure and complete class. A man of real integrity. Fuck me we could do with more Bobby Robsons in society let alone football.

Literally can’t say more than that really.

Its kind of embarrassing for what this club has become to be associated with him.  Honestly he's way too good for that.

I loved how when Keegan came back with Man City the "there's only one Kevin Keegan" chant organically changed into "there's only one Bobby Robson"

The pair of them.  :smitten:

Great clip.

If you look at every manager Ashley has hired during his tenure bar Keegan and Hughton they have being the polar opposite to this great man.

Passionate, not settling for second best, not happy with a draw and not throwing his player under the bus for getting sent off but instead backing him to the hilt.

I don't care about trophies or champions league football ..this is what I miss. A great man to lead the club to be proud of

Watching those video clips, listening to SBR. Oh, I cry when I realise those days are so long gone.

What a joy it was, those times of hope, expectation, amazing achievements and glorious football. Managed by a true gentleman. A real Geordie. Real.

Those days, and those with KK lifted me.

It was, literally, the time of my life. NUFC made my life complete.

And now.......Bruce? Ashley? I despair.

One day...one day.....I hope to feel those days again. Please, God, please???

In fact, all of it's just great. The way he talks about football, it's just so honest and passionate and positive. And that glimmer of determination right at the very end too. The way he builds up the game, builds up his team, puts the opponent on a pedastal but not too highly;  so visibly excited and proud.

We didn't do badly that game either. Got let down by one lad switching off.
