Chris_R
Barton's value is what it would cost to replace him with a player of equal ability. And to me, that's got to be around £6-7m if we manage to get a decent bargain, or £9-10m if we can't be arsed to look properly.
midds
You can forget common sense, assists, his form this season and anything else. If someone comes in with more than about £3m Ashley will take it and he'll be gone. Logic plays no part whatsoever in Ashley's tenure and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he's sold. ponsaelius
Watching City the other night, would anybody on here take Barry or Milner over Barton atm? I know I certainly wouldn't. The money they paid for those two, ludicrous.
Geordie Ahmed
Would be gutted if Barton left - he is playing very well at the moment and the reported fees mentioned are a joke He is so important to our play, would be very tough to replace him
HawK
He's worth the rumored 60k to us a week, that's for sure.
Ishmael
Wouldn't take either in place of Barton but I'd certainly take both over the other midfielders we have on offer* *not Tiote or Nolan of course
SteveMc
We'd be paying him about 1.5 m between now and the end of the season. Staying up would save us 30m. I'm shite at Maths, but that sounds a no brainer to me.
RupertCommunicator
Fucking hell! If we sold Barton, it'd absolutely rip out the heart of the team! He's playing close his best for us, and if he went elsewhere, he'd have to re-establish himself both on and off the pitch. Carroll, Tiote and Barton should form the core of our team for the next few seasons!
wormy
Face it. They're all gone in January, mate.
HawK
So we're losing Enrique, Barton, Carroll.. doubt we'd even stay in the fizzy pop league with those 3 gone

Mick
Krul/Forster ______ _______ Coloccini Enrique Barton _______ Tiote Ben Arfa _______ Carroll We're potentially 2 good transfer windows from having a very good starting 11, especially with the way the players seem to get on well with each other. It wouldn't surprise me if he's been secretly torturing and murdering Jews in an underground chamber below St James Park. It's still true that he hasn't so far though.
