Guest
I love it how Sunderland fans are using this as some sort of excuse for the gates. well isnt he a genius we've been yoyoing and had 19 and 15 point seasons theyve had champs league Surely if anything, more of them would be going now because they're experiencing much much better than previously, whereas we should have a great deal fewer since we're a million miles away from where we were. Guest Heneage
NUT how dare you try and use reason and logic, that's below the belt. Yes they may have just signed Marseille's captain for £5m and actually have a team that have played football in European competitions that aren't Subbetto or Fifa, but they went down 3 years ago, it takes at least 5 years to recover! If Simpson had a proper right winger and not a weird dodgy full back winger wing back scouse freakazoid he would probably do better. Having clicked that link, Almost Genius is a mate of mine. Cajun
Simpson make out playing for Sunderland was like some sort of life threatening disease "Sunderland's behind me now – that was years ago"

TRon
http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/08/28/danny-simpson-wants-to-remain-at-newcastle-61634-24551703/ Seems to be a good spirit in the camp and for that Hughton deserves some credit. His real test will be when we get beat though.
Nobody
Cracking attitude, hopefully we'll sign him on a permanent deal and get a proper RW in, using R.Taylor as back up.
tmonkey
Thoughts on him so far then? Personally think I've seen enough - we need to sign him up permanently. Don't have high hopes that he'll ever be a world beater, but he has pace in his locker and is solid defensively at this level (yes, I know that's not saying much), so even if he never amounts to much going forward, that combination of pace and no nonsense defending means he'd probably/possibly be a decent defensive fullback at Premiership level. The way I see it, the gamble on him is a worthy one. If we go up, he should be a good backup option for right back, maybe even a first teamer if he's sound enough defensively. If we don't go up, he's clearly good at this level. Very low risk this transfer, and certainly beats spunking money on the Carr's and Babayaro's of this world. Frazzle
I thought his defending was good as soon as he joined, now he's confident and attacking better.
Skirge
I like what I see we need to try and get him signed up like but cannot see Fergie selling him just yet, make it a season long loan at least.
Guest Alan Shearer 9
Impressed me today. Which is good considering I pay his wages by buying a calendar every year.
ikri
I like what I see we need to try and get him signed up like but cannot see Fergie selling him just yet, make it a season long loan at least. He's out of contract at the end of the season, if anything Fergie will (hopefully) allow him to leave for a nominal fee in January
lovejoy
His contract is up at the end of the season iirc. Fegie will bin him
TRon
Very good defensively but offers nothing going forward. Seeing as we're already crap on the right wing we could do with someone who gets down the flank a bit more, but other than that I like him.
Skirge
HE'S OURS!! then out of contract fkn get in there.
Jayson
One of our better players today, doing pretty well. Pleased we got him.
Cajun
I like him, will be a decent player even if we do go up. Not spectacular and we could do with someone ahead of him but worth having in the squad, like like Guthrie in that respect.
Ronaldo
Solid defender tbh, good acquisition
Wullie
Aye I think he's done well so far.
Yorkie
There should have been more like him. And for the very fact we actually signed him, i've honestly no idea why there weren't.
Dan Gleebals
Definately one we should sign. Not Manu first team quality by any stretch, but defo worth a place in our first team. Would not be pissed off at all if we sigh this guy at all.
Willow
Seems to have settled in very quickly and coped really well with getting stuck right into the 1st team lineup. So far so good, I think he'll only get better too, so I'd like it if we signed the fellow
Dave
Too early to say we should sign him permanently IMO, it's only been five games. Looks alright though.
