TRC
Was the most hated player we've had in years for 2 seasons, booed regularly before games. Got to give the bloke credit. That is all.

Steggy
Odd to think he started his career as a striker.
Jill
I practically shit myself every time he goes in for a tackle.
thewellander
I'm glad he's coming good for us. You can't doubt his effort.
The Prophet
Not the greatest player in the world but can't fault the lad's effort at the minute, keep it up.
TRon
He isn't a liability in central midfield. He deserves credit for that.
ponsaelius
Would have never thought he'd end up as our holding midfield player. Fair play to him though, puts the effort in and has certainly been one of our best players this season.
EthiGeordie
After that injury it is hard to imagin he goes in for all those hard tackle.. I was one of his critics but he won me over this time around. Well Done....
mozy
I practically shit myself every time he goes in for a tackle. So does the bloke with the ball, which is why he's effective.
Newcastle Fan
A fucking beast in the midfield, i honestly think players are starting to get scared from going near him and trying to play away from him, really good yesterday.
Tooj
I guess I'm the only one who hasn't been blown over by his performances.
pinkeye
He rarely misplaces a pass or header, even when under pressure, which sets him leagues ahead of our holding midfield specialist - Nicky Butt!! Personally I would love him to score a couple of goals as well this season, just to put the icing on the cake. Well on the way to being player of the season for me. Kevin Nolan also deserves a note for effort as well, while others are sauntering around at their own pace he is busting a gut to close players down etc. Again not the most talented player but, great for us in this league! Guest Stephen927
Play him alongside Barton or Guthrie, not Butt. I think it's fair to say that a few of our players have found their level.

Dr.Spaceman
He's done well to get back into the team without sulking around or anything tbh. Could have easily stuck two fingers up to us haters and Fo'd to Hull or somewhere similar.
Guest Roger Kint
I guess I'm the only one who hasn't been blown over by his performances. nope. Same here, his biggest asset is that he isnt Nicky Butt imo
JH
Can't pass, can't shoot, half the time can't even tackle. A poor man's Scott Parker
Guest
Typical Championship player who should be moved on if we go up. Fine playing against the likes of Shaun Derry, Darren Potter & Grant Leadbitter in this league, will be a liability as he proved in his first season against Fabregas, Gerrard, Lampard, etc.
Guest Heneage
Typical Championship player who should be moved on if we go up. Fine playing against the likes of Shaun Derry, Darren Potter & Grant Leadbitter in this league, will be a liability as he proved in his first season against Fabregas, Gerrard, Lampard, etc. Depends really. On his ability to adapt, and what formation we play. In a 4-4-2 he's done for, but in a 4-3-3 like what Pompey used to play he could do a more basic version of what Diarra was, assuming he worked on timing of his tackles. AyeDubbleYoo
The game is too fast for him in Prem I think, good player at the moment mainly because we've dropped down a level.
Skirge
LOVE ALAN SMITH
Yorkie
He's got good stamina and has shown more determination than he ever has for us before (the whole "he's a trier" thing was a myth in the Premiership, cos he was just lost wherever the fuck he played). Plus, he's got a fixed role now and in this division, against these players, he's got the attributes to be streets ahead of the rest of the league. It's a team effort though. Smith infront of Taylor and Coloccini works a treat... however against Donny - whilst individually Smith had a good game - we looked shaky and unorganised at times. He's one third of the best defensive crux in the league and from a defensive perspective, they all bounce off each other. It comes with continuity and the sheer fact they're just above the opposition in just about every way. So confidence, in other words.
