Tooj
He's the equivalent of what Paul Bracewell was in Keegans team. The unglamorous grafter. The difference is the 92 side complimented the graft with the smart forward passing of Lee Clark. He's not as good as Bracewell man, even at the age he was. Could you imagine Smith scoring a 25 yarder like that Villa goal? Bracewell was better in every department imo. Or the Southend one.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Can't say I'd want to extend his contract. This season is the first season he has played where I haven't hated him being on the pitch (and that's probably because he's at his level in the Championship). If Everton or whoever are still interested in buying him for a decent fee I'd sell him (assuming we could buy a better replacement). He's very limited in what he does. He'll get sent off in the Premiership for the challenges he gets away with in the Championship. Apparently he's a great professional, a good influence in the dressing room and a good character. That's good but I'd rather have a better player.

Is this the same great professional and character in the dressing room who had to be disciplined and dropped by the manager for his behaviour in the dressing room despite being our captain? Stifler
I can't actually see him giving up nearly 50% of his wages no matter what he says. I just don't think he's worth it, let him go sand bring someone decent in.
Rich
I would appreciate Alan Smith if someone came in for him this summer and he kindly took his leave. He's on far too much wonga for what he offers.
Guest
I bet whatever we offer in any renegotiated contract is still a damn sight more than any other club would offer him.

MKSC
Can we offload him to Leeds now seeing as he's a championship player and they are now promoted back to the championship.
Shak
Doubt he'll be happy to sit on the bench next year, but that's where he'll need to be if we're going to get moving in the right direction. His act of charging around throwing himself into and snarling at anyone he makes eye contact with was fine and good in the Championship, but in the Premiership it'll just lead to bookings and concessions of free kicks in dangerous places. And in the Premiership, there'll be opponents who can deliver from those dangerous places.

Doctor Zaius
Certainly a career ruined by injury. He's never really recovered from that horrendous injury at Man utd, he's definitely never looked the same player. Shame because I think he's a good lad who gives his all the the cause, sadly giving your all just isn't enough at this level.
Cajun
The injury definitely didn't help but I always thought he was overrated anyway. Couldn't believe it when he signed for man u.
Tisd09
Whilst he surprised me at the start of the season and was very uselful, he has been pretty much non exsistent since December, our performances improved in the 2nd half of the season without him. Surely Enrique/Nolan/Carroll/Jonas/Colo are miles ahead of Smith as well as a few others, as good as Routledge and Williamson have been I think its a bit unfair to count them in player of the season given they only played for us half a season. If he was on a reasonable wage next season I would say keep as back up but given he is on a massive wage I am sure we could replace him with someone just as effective but on half the wages. With the likes of Fat Sam, in the league there is a chance that we'll get a decent bit of cash for him too. Nothing against Smith really I think he is a solid pro, just not good enough for us next season and on silly wages.

Ronaldo
I'd love him to go back to Leeds, my best mate still thinks he's a good player, that'd soon change his mind.
