No Aguero is absurd, he has to be in the discussion for #1 spot

10 best Premier League forwards and 10 best forwards to play in Premier League obviously two different things.

Aguero has the lowest minutes per goal by far when comparing 100+ appearances players. He was just injured a lot. Haaland is currently at 87.96, though.

Chicharito nr. 10. I had forgotten about him.[emoji38]

It's really nothing to do with Gosforth or anywhere else in Newcastle for that matter. Just a posh version of Geordie that sounds horrific. Shearer, Bruce, Waddle all sound weird on national tv/radio. I've never heard anyone locally sound like that.

Waddles accent is unbearable. "GRITE GOWL!"

Ronaldo was at the very start of the wingers as forwards era so I suppose it's fine, but having forwards, wing forwards and out-and-out strikers together feels a bit forced and pointless tbh. Cantona, Salah, Bale and Shearer don't really belong together on any list that's supposed to make any sense.

This. Must admit I was kind of surprised to hear it being linked with Gosforth, just seems to be some weird inflection that some people seem to have picked up second hand. Maybe footballers get that from being around so many different accents during their career. Waddle was a Mackem, Bruce spent half his life kissing Mancunian arse, and Shearer probably spent too much time with the pair of them.

Hazard shouldn't be on that list either, he wasn't a forward. The way they disregarded Cole and Van Nistelrooy was very strange. Was a very odd segment. Aguero wasn't on the list despite having five or six league titles and Kane not being there being because he didn't have any despite having three golden boots. It didn't make any sense at all.

I think If I was to create a list as they did, including wingers, wide forwards and strikers i'd probably have it as this.

10) Erling Haaland

9) Robin Van Persie

8) Cristiano Ronaldo

7) Dennis Bergkamp

6) Wayne Rooney

5) Harry Kane

4) Mo Salah

3) Sergio Aguero

2) Alan Shearer

1) Thierry Henry

The Top three are set in stone for me, but honest the other 7 could change around dependent on my mood

He kept tripping over his argument that it’s trophies that matter, it was the argument he used against Shearer. He put Salah at 2, with 1 title, and Bale at 10 with 0 titles, and Aguero with 5 titles didn’t make his list. They should’ve told him to go away and think about it and they’ll do the feature next week.

I bet when it comes to midfielders he’ll put Gerrard at number one despite no PL titles.

Or Hazard. Comparing him with Shearer is pointless as there couldn't be two more different players, basically.

Anyway, 1. Shearer 2. Henry 3. Aguero is my obvious top 3

It's kind of like making a top 10 list of centrebacks and fullbacks..

I'll never understand how highly rated Cantona is in these lists.

Agreed. He was class on Saturday's against Oldham or Sheff Utd in the PL. But shite the following Tuesday against AC or Bara in the CL.

It's the gossy accent. My lass has it. It's mental.

Lowdsa cowts for loads of coats. Stowk for Stoke etc.

Never knew that,  feel like I’ve only ever heard it from Geordies doing TV work, always thought it was an adaptation. Grates on my ear cos sounds so out of place.

Same. Does anyone who isn't a Man Utd fan ever do it though? Ex Man Utd players having a big influence in the football media and punditry in the UK probably helps it too. He was a good player in a very good team but there are so many other forwards who hit much bigger goal numbers over a lot more years. A lot of bang-average PL forwards have hit bigger numbers than him although I know its not always about just that.

The discussion is about a list from Jamie Carragher tbf.  Cantona's impact was monumental. KI's post sums it up quite well.

He's behind Rooney though, absolutely no question. As is Ronaldo.
