Mike Williamson (now unemployed)

Recommended Posts

Canny bloke, not a Premier League footballer.

Thats harsh. Theres worse playing in the league already, he more stick than he deserved but he is capable for a promoted team at least. Christ Turner gets a game for Norwich

And they conceded 58 goals last season - what's your point?

It was less than us with this CB you reckon isnt good enough only featuring in half the games. Or are you saying that Colo, Taylor, MYM etc arent good enough either?

Aye that's exactly what I'm saying. Michael Turner is a better defender than Coloccini...

Not my fault your best argument was a stupid stat which proves f*** all.

And your argument that Williamson is a Premier League defender because Michael Turner is, is a cracking argument?

See above he wasnt even 4th choice after we signed MYM at times. More worried about signing a replacement for Williamson when we have one proper striker. Some people ffs

My point is that I like replacements in place before we sell players. I'm not saying we need to replace Williamson as a priority before we get a new striker. Most of the NUFC related rumours are about players out not players in. We've been burned before getting rid of players and then assuming we'll get a replacement in.

They must be fairly confident of getting Douglas if they're willing to sell now, IMO.

I hope so, but even if they weren't it would still make sense to sell Williamson for a decent fee. It shouldn't be too difficult to find an upgrade/younger version with potential for the 2 million touted.

The Journal understands that Shane Ferguson will also be offered out on loan, while defender Mike Williamson is close to completing a move to Cardiff City.

From the article:

United may also listen to offers for James Perch, who is interesting Leicester, but Alan Pardew is understood to have lobbied the board for the midfielder to be given a new contract.

 for Pardew if that's true.

Good luck to the lad. Decent pro with limited ability. Not what we need, in terms of quality to progress us, but the lad always put an honest shift in.

Perch should not be sold imo. Much improved, again limited but as a versatile player he is more than worth his place in the squad.

I hope both Williamson and Perch go.

Agree with all this.

Yup Perch is, like Raylor (and previously Guthrie), a very good squad player who's able to slot in where needed for a short time. I think we suffered from losing Raylor this season. I wouldn't fancy going into next season with no utility players.
