Newcastle United 2 - 0 Nott'm Forest - 29/03/10 - post match reaction from p15

Recommended Posts

Were lacking in the final third, were creating chances but its always a wrong pass or a mis-hit cross or players opting not to shot.

Our set-pieces are pretty awfull, Guthrie needs to work on that.

Carroll has been pretty shit today, Lovenkrands isn't getting any service

Jonas has been brilliant every time he got on the ball.

Forset are barley causing us any trouble.

Hope we can pick it up in the final third as it looks like this is a game for us to take.

The guy commenting on ESPN "46 thousand. They were expecting a few more but the rain has probably put off some. Softies."

 I heard that too. It's funny also because the guy is commentating by himself and says some cringe-worthy things. It's the same for every Newcastle match on ESPN.

Still, 46,000 for a Monday second divison match is astounding.

Better than the Sky fella who reckons there is 4,000 Forest there when they only got 2,700 tix.

This is a very different side from the one earlier in the season. We're so much more relaxed and confident on the ball, and passing it quite well.

Forest look neat, but we've had the chances. We've been taking that one touch too many in goalscoring positions.

You look the better team but you don't have much penetration up front tonight. The midfield, whilst debatably not PL standard, is at least showing some composure and keeping the ball moving. Your defence looks solid and calm albeit you've barely been tested.

Very good game so far, Guthrie has been canny in the middle, Routledge creative and Carroll's been winning a lot. What a goal it would have been if he'd scored from Routledges cross early on.

Perch has been magnificent for them like, shame we didn't manage to snap him up in January.

This guy kills me everytime. I can't imagine it's an easy job as a one man commentating team.

It'll be his Miles Addison-esque game out of the ordinary for the season.

we look good but just seem a tiny bit away from creating clear cut chances. surely it'll come second half, simply due to them tiring as the match continues. might be worth swapping jonas and routledge a few times to confuse the full backs - perch has played well, but routledge is a different challenge and he's done very well on the right. if he is on the left and cuts in he'll have it on his preferred foot.

Switch play onto the right side of the pitch, Perch has pretty much got the left area covered, I would like to see more creativity from Nolan and Guthrie, all of our attacking play has come from Routledge and Jonas.
