Liverpool's away support these days seems to be 60 percent jester hat wearing Scandinavianss, 30 percent wide eyed Irish blokes who previously thought football only existed on television, and 5 percent people their home fans would call "wools", leaving just 5 percent to be proper Sergio Tacchini wearing scrotes. Not sure if he's saying this is a good or a bad thing. When I was about 13 I had a Sergio Tacchini tracksuit, the jacket was lime green with the logo all down the sleeve. Personally, I enjoy being able to watch more than one live game per weekend. Nowt stopping the Premier League from putting Man Utd's, Chelsea's, Liverpool's games on TV at 3pm Oh God. I've quoted about 3 of your posts in the last day so it might feel like I'm picking on you but stop saying braindead shit ffs. The whole point of the different kick-off times is that games are on telly, hence the extra money, etc, etc. Sometimes I think you're taking the piss. I'd think that people who were going to the matches would go anyway. It may even open things up to a wider audience because people who wouldn't be bothered would at least watch it on the telly. We only started getting most of the matches regularly shown on TV this year over here, attendances have actually gone up. I've probably been to getting on for a hundred Hartlepool games in my life, I probably wouldn't have gone to half of those if I'd been able to stay at home and watch NUFC. It's a lot harder to get kids to lower league football or their local sides if they can sit at home and watch the players on the front of their FIFA 11 box. You're basically the only country in the world with lower leagues that are worth anything. Be proud while it lasts. It's a far more admirable aspect of our game than the vile wankfest of the 'best league in the world' - which ironically is going a long way to killing off the former. Te cheapest adult ticket at SJP is £25, so if you are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids it would cost the best part of £100 to attend a game. The remaining money that you would save on the child tickets would surely be taken up by just having a bottle of pop and some chips each. £100 on average every fortnight is a lot of money. Going to every home league would cost about £1,900 a season. It's not just the premiership clubs either. In February I went to see Doncaster play at home against Watford. When I first enquired about tickets we were told they were £22 each for the cheapest tickets or £25 for the better tickets. That price put off 3 members of my family from going so it was just left with me and a friend of mine going and we got in for £15 each when we payed at the gate. We didn't know up until then that the tickets would be reduced and no doubt many people who attended the game would have payed full price. People can't afford those prices, especially when you factor in travel costs/parking (which is getting worse with more out of town stadiums popping up), and of course your half time pie and pint then the price goes up even more. Today I asked a friend if he wanted to go to the match with me, he couldn't go because of the price otherwise he would have gladly went instead of sitting in watching it on an internet stream. That's right, but just one factor. Allowing PL games to be televised at 3pm on Saturday would be another. Thankfully we haven't gone down that route yet. When the attendence of the match is not above a certain threshold (ie. a percentage of the stadium), the match is "blacked out" and not shown on telelvision. Otherwise it is on freeview channels. What would you think about instituting this model in England, for the Premiership and maybe even the Championship? I think it would generate massive revenues.
