Wasn't Allardyce happy to sell Shola when he was managing here?

It's a tactical move. He knows he can paralyze Pards by taking Shola from him.

IIRC the only manager we've had who didn't rate Shola was Keegan.

Was going to say that. Him & Keegan are the only two managers not to use him where humanly possible.

Several Clubs Interested In Newcastle Striker Shola Ameobi

Sky Tyne and Wear understands several clubs are showing an interest in Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi.

Loic Remy has already arrived on loan and with Newcastle believed to also be hoping to secure deals to sign Demba Ba and Bafetimbi Gomis.

A deal is also reportedly possible to sign long-time target Andre Ayew from Marseille.

Rumours have now surfaced linking Shola Ameobi with a move away from Newcastle, the day after he scored the club's first goal of the season in the 2-0 Capital One Cup win over Morecambe.

Reports had initially linked Ameobi with a move to West Ham with former United manager and current West Ham boss Sam Allardyce seen at the Globe Arena for the match with Morecambe.

Ameobi's agent has played down talk of a move to The Boleyn Ground though, but confirmed there is interest in his client.

Steve Denos told Sky Tyne and Wear: "Yes there is interest in Shola from a number of clubs but we have heard nothing from West Ham."

Are Sky Tyne and Wear even in any way reliable? Loads of stuff seems to be coming just from them and it stinks of 'give the geordies what they want to hear' stories.

Carlton Cole isn't better than Shola like. Or if he is, he never manages to show it for some reason. He probably has more ability but Shola is more capable of actually affecting a game.

While both are shit, Carlton Cole has scored more goals in less games, also can't believe he has 7 England caps. Just goes to show anyone can get one these days.
