toontownman
Don't like all this talk he's doing at the moment about being upset in the next window as well because we "can't compete" sounds very much like Tiote, Coloccini Ben Arfa, anyone decent could go in january if they play well and bids come in. Sad times It is hardly what we want to hear, albeit the the truth. This regime has constantly aimed to throw a wet blanket on lofty hopes and delusions of grandeur amongst the fans. Like alot of things this regime have done, it is with the best intentions but miscommunication exacerbates the paranoia they themselves have created. If Tiote is here at the end of this transfer window, we may hold on to him for the season bearing in mind that he will be going to the ACN.

If they continue to remove any hope for supporters, then many more will start to think what is the point. I think they are being very short-sighted in that policy. Apathy is the worse thing that could happen to NUFC but that seems to the only logical outcome from the club's perceived actions, Pardew's regular attempts to dampen expectations and the lack of communication from the hierarchy. BlueStar
We replaced Carroll with Ba We went into the window where we sold Carroll all in agreement that we needed a striker, which is why I find it difficult to think of Ba as "Carroll's replacement" rather than the striker we were desperately in need of before we sold him. Stu
If they continue to remove any hope for supporters, then many more will start to think what is the point. The point of what? Supporting your team and hoping they win this week? End of the day, that's what it's truly all about, KO on a Sat or Sun and the 90minutes that follow. Fatwax
Pardew was walking around in training and deliberately shaking players' hands and patting them on the back. Making an effort to do it to everyone, but blanks some players - notably Barton & Smith. Presenters having some shit patter about it being the possible line up for Saturday or something. TRon
Pardew would seem to be marking the line with players who are for Newcastle and those who have been griping. Sometimes it's necessary to get rid of the bad blood for a manager to get a team's loyalty. There may be some who are still loyal to Hughton and who will miss big salaries in the coming seasons. Fatwax
Whose hands did he shake exactly then? All the big hitters, Tiote, Coloccini, Obertan (who had the facial impression of someone trying to do REALLY difficult maths in his head), Ba etc. Even Abeid got a cheeky handshake.
