fat sam said not long ago when he was a quest pundit on one of our matches that it was derek llambias that ran the club not the owner and he sounded like he had abit of beef with him

Not sure why Allardyce would have a problem with Llambias?  ??? But anyway, as others have said, he's nothing more than a mouthpiece IMO. The shots are called by Ashley.

Didn't Llambias not come to the club until after Allardyce left?

Llambias joined in the summer of 2008, Fat Sam was sacked in January of that year

Mort was still chairman when Keegan came IIRC.

To be fair, the damage to our club under Mort was a flesh wound compared to what has been dished out since he left.

Mort's indecision and mismanagement of the Keegan situation started the rot, long before Llambias set about compounding it.

Anyway this discussion can probably wait for another day.

Because he's preceived of as being just an employee? Conversely Shepherd had the appearance of running the club on a day to day basis.

Fair point right at the beginning. Shepherd had shares remember, he wasn't just employed by the Halls. That's all Llambias is, an employee. When everyone knows Ashley is the sole owner, it's going to end up aimed at him.

Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias left immediately after the second invasion and Sportsmail has learned that owner Mike Ashley's right-hand man was attacked by a large group of Newcastle fans in a bar at the ground before the game and subjected to vile abuse.

Hopefully it'll force the f***er to resign.

Hopefully it will force Cashley to sell the club so local businessman Barry Moat can step in to rescue us.

'Attacked' will mean being called some names, questioning his parentage, etc. The man is an arsehole and if he chose to mingle with some of our lot, then he deserves all he got given the way he has treat the fans during his tenure.
