For some yet unknown reason our webhost carried out a hard reboot of our server in the early hours of this morning; around 1.15am. When it reboots every service comes back up automatically so we were at a loss to figure out what was wrong. We could ping the site, tracing routes worked normally, the control panel/DNS/server management interfaces were all fine, we just weren't passing web traffic. We tried everything and then it just clicked with Rich to check one of the services we use. It wasn't running. He's restarted it and hey presto, here we are. TL;DR: one of our services needs starting manually after a full reboot of the server and we didn't know about it (or had forgotten after such a long period of uptime). Rich is a legend.
