Birmingham have used their 3 substitutes and Larsson hasn't come off the bench. That means he isn't cup tied then doesn't it?

At £1m Birmingham would get the £1m they paid for him back rather than possibly lose him for nothing. I'd rather we bought Larsson for £1m than loaned Bentley for £1m.

Sunderland have supposedly entered the race for him but hope to pick him up for a free in the summer according to the journal. Bruce signed him for Birmingham so he must rate him if he's back in for him.

Larsson for 1mil is a no brainer. Those who are saying stay well away and he's average are deluding themselves to be fair. If you think about it you know fine well we have no money, I'm pretty certain you have seen very little of the guy play in recent months unless you're streaming Brum games each week.

He's a good technical player, good crosser, good passer and will be an asset in the team. A good player for 1mil in this market and in these market conditions with our Owner is a 'Go' for me.

Stop pretending to know what you're talking about saying he's shite and be happy he'll replace Routledge, Guthrie, Smith etc. FFS.

If Barton was the right side of a central midfield three, could he continue his current role, with Larsson still playing wide right?

It'd be a dynamic formation. But tactics and discipline it should work no?  Someone posted a solid formation with Tiote, Nolan, Barton, Larson, and HBA playing together which would be a great one.

                Barton Tiote Nolan

Larsson                                Ben Arfa

                    Carroll

It might work. Simply Larsson, Barton, Simpson and Tiote can pass the ball around until one can whip it in from the right with Carroll and Nolan getting in the area, and Ben Arfa lurking outside the area to deal with any clearances. If necessary we can switch the ball to the left and let Hatem and Jose do the damage.

I have this sneaking suspicion that Nolan doesn't perform playing off a lone striker as well as he does playing behind two.  Do the stats and more importantly the results back this up?

Barton Nolan and Tiote would continue to play the same role the currently do within the side. So Nolan would not be playing off Carroll. The two new widemen would be playing off Carroll.

or....

          barton tiote

larsson(?)    ziani (?)  ben arfa

          carroll

two new average players to suddenly break in to our first eleven? no thanks

in place of nolan (less than averag when he doesn't score and our other forward, less than average whoever it is ?

Nolan is istrumental in our team.

If we are looking to be a team whose only aim is to stay in this division then yes, he is.

You think Ziani and Larsson would get us higher up the table? think again. And btw, take a look at Nolan's scoring record this season.

I'd rather we leave Larsson alone.

People are getting carried away looking at players like Ben Arfa and Tiote (who nobody knew about at the time) and expecting every player coming in to be f***ing amazing.

Exactly

Who are the prems best right sided players?

Nani

Valencia

Walcott

Lennon

Bentley

You wouldn't get any of them for less than 7 million so for a proven prem player at s good age people should stop moaning

1.5 mil would be good business

People are really living in a dreamworld suggesting a £1 million deal for Seb Larsson would be bad.

I'd take him for even £2 million. In the end we need players who can come of the bench and we also need danger from set pieces which we havn't had since Nobby and Laurent Robert. I mean in the end we can score goals from set pieces by crossing the ball, but we are no danger on direct free-kicks.

He is also a hardworker and good passer of the ball. Exactly what we need.
