Kaizero
how about Obinna? He's on loan at West Ham, been decent lately Autoresponse enabled. Fyp. Is Obinna one of the players you would like to see join us by the end of summer? Yes. He's a free agent in the summer, and a good player. No he is not. He is not a free agent until summer 2012 ffs. ponsaelius
Even if he isn't out of contract at the end of the season Inter will still basically give him away. He's gash. Yeah, definitely 2012. I was getting him mixed up with Rivas. http://forzainterforums.com/showthread.php?7931-Co-owned-amp-Loaned-Players-Contract

Why not just give the fucker away then, or terminate its contract. It makes no sense.

Why did he sign a loan deal with Dnipro with them having the option to "purchase" the player? Surely he'd just sign a pre-deal with them in that case? http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=35717&L=en (Not saying you're wrong, mind. Just seemed weird how Inter has phrased it is all.) ponsaelius
I divn't kna do I. http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=26847&L=en&IDINI=26852 Colombian defender Rivas, who played for River Plate in Argentina last season, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract until 30 June 2011. He's an absolute carthorse defender though, I know that much.

ponsaelius
Italian website in wording their English version poorly/in a limited manner. Happens quite often and is probably the reason.
ponsaelius
Anyway. Back to Obinna. Inter spent all summer trying to find suiters for Obinna, Rivas, Mancini, Burdisso, Muntari. It happens all the time that they are burdened with bad rubbish which can't be disposed of, in the end they were all either loaned out, released or basically given away. It speaks volumes that nobody wanted to touch Obinna with a bargepole except for West Ham. He's a desperately frustrating player, some inconsistent talent but not nearly good enough encorporate into a functional side.

Guest
They do it to save wages. They don't get a fee, but say they save £500k on wages for a year before he goes then it's worth it, particularly if he's not really going to play.

They wouldn't be paying wages if they let them go, although would it cost them to terminate with only 6 months left?
Guest
Course it would, they'd have to pay their full wages.
mrmojorisin75
Course it would, they'd have to pay their full wages. or get the player to agree to waive their remaining wages in favour of their next contract /beingafuckingidiot
LRD
Loaning club may not want a permanent transfer or may be looking for a try-before-you-sign deal. Makes sense to me.
STM
For the record i'm convinced we have Elmander lined up for the summer. This transfer story has been brewing for months (since the summer i believe). It would not suprise me if we ended up with Larsson on a free too. simonsays
Our policy does seem to be to hoover up players who have minimal time left on their contracts. I would be surprised to see us in for anyone who has longer than 12 months left on their current deal come the summer
mrmojorisin75
fucking hell, if we got Elmander, Larrsson and Marveux on frees and use the 35m wisely for say another 3 top players we'd be in canny shape imo
Village Idiot
Elmander has just had 4 good months in the premiership, and currently hasn't scored in 11 games or something like that. I'm really not convinced.
