I thought he was shite to begin with, but since that first year, the man has fought with every cell in his body to make us a good team again. Signing a new contract recently, too. He's eligible to pull the Article 17 Trigger next Summer ie. that's about the 2 year mark since his recent contract renewal iirc. Taking his earnings package into consideration it would be a hefty pay-out for Collocini (with San Lorenzo picking up the bill) to cough-up. That sort of compensation fee (paying out his final 2 or 3 yrs) outweighs the transfer fees paid by Brazilian & Argentinian, for top S.American players' homecomings. Collocini's agent issued an ultimatum of a forthcoming potential legal fight (to force a move to NUFC) ie. potential test case for the governing bodies, or a possible Webster move the following year where Depor would have received bugger-all compo. Lendoiro caved in, and the transfer went through. They have got virtually no case case circa the transfer saga window previously mentioned and Collocini's a model professional (on the pitch), but his backers have form if relationships break down (ie. level of trust professionally ie. between himself & Pardew). Plus, he signed a new contract just six months ago, so unless something pretty bad recently happened I would bin this crap. On the other hand I wouldn't know how the papers could make all this up if Colo's dad hadn't said a word on the matter.
