LRD
I don't get the 'it would not have been possible not to renew my contract' part. No one is pointing a gun at him.
aussiemag
Who would you replace him with .... Toby Alderweireld?
DJ_NUFC
I'm guessing he means we only offered a 4 hear contract, and nothing shorter.
TaylorJ_01
I'm guessing he means we only offered a 4 hear contract, and nothing shorter. Yeah, this is possible. Well, at least he's here till summer. Gives us a chance to organise ourselves with plenty of notice. Another top CB is now a priority. Taylor - Mbiwa would be OK but we need a third. Kanj
Have that sad feeling I'm going to have to cherish each of his remaining appearances for us b/c this will be his last season in our black and white shirt. f*** thats upsetting.

LRD
Who would you replace him with .... Toby Alderweireld? Douglas on a free will be nice provided we don't get involved in the multi-agent/ entourage nonsense. We'll then have a very good mix of central defenders. Skirge
Its not bad but would rather nothing was said, however the press will carry on hounding him over it every chance they get.
Guest Roger Kint
Its not bad but would rather nothing was said, however the press will carry on hounding him over it every chance they get. It was in Sweden to Argie reporters you would assume, the idea the press was 'hounding' him is a bit daft considering how little the Argie press cared in the first place. They didnt even run the 'personal reasons' story over there.

What has being in the Journal got to do with it? You prefer they ignore stories about out players now?
Wilson
At least we know he's going to go, so we really need to gradually build a MYM/Taylor partnership before then.

Unbelievable
I'm happy he seems and confident he will remain thoroughly professional on the pitch, but those statements are hardly befitting a club captain (again).
LRD
I'm happy he seems and confident he will remain thoroughly professional on the pitch, but those statements are hardly befitting a club captain (again). We all know what's coming in the summer. I'm happy with preserving the status quo, not rocking any boats til we are safe. Then like Ronaldo said to ease Mbiwa in in place of Colo. If there are plans to replace him with Douglas or another competent CH in the summer, we should be good. By all accounts we have Cabaye as a strong(er) candidate to take over the captaincy.
