No way should he be captain.  Think without the arm band and a different manager he could just about do a job as a player.

As captain though under Pardew, he is terrible and goes against ever notion of what a good captain should do/be.

Taylor, Williamson and Coloccini = most of the defense that got us relegated the first time - they are still our defense 5 years later!  Unbelievable really.

He's played much worse and escaped criticism in the past. A lot of sheep mentality here. He was poor for the goal but made some good interceptions and blocks when facing Stoke counters and showed he still has some positional strength.

Crouch had him very wary the whole game. It was also good to see him try to organise that backline for the goal even though he ended up committing the fault he tried to warn them about.

Being pedantic but Williamson signed for us halfway through the season in the championship.

This c***, along with "senior staff" Williamson can f*** right off. They are definitely the go to guys for support of Pardew within the team. What f***ing game have we "controlled"? Sad to see one one of my favorites decline so much as a player and even more so on a personal level. Utter utter cunt.

When all is said and done his legacy will take everything into account, but until then, right now, he's rubbish in most ways.

Kind of like The Simpsons.

His defensive work was absolutely shocking today.  I'd say drop him but we have no one behind him.

Pardew's a big taylor fan, I don't know why he hasn't dropped Colo by now and put England-class Tayls in there.

All the fuss 3 years ago about, 'why the f*** don't we just extend his contract man'.

Wish we'd just let his contract run down and let him go back home now, he'd have been remembered as a legend almost.

He has been awful far too much the last year. Shocking captain considering he had Williamson telling him who to mark today
