150m set aside for buying players over two years (4 transfer windows) isn't enough in today's market imo. Hopefully this figure doesn't include commercial/advertising revenue, if the Sports Direct shackles are removed.

It'll be £300m investment in transfers on top of whatever the club already has available to spend (from the TV money).

That's pure conjecture.

I’ve completely lost all hope of staying calm like. Not felt like this since the first rumours of Rafa coming.

Already chose what I’ll be wearing at the Champions League final. Currently trying to have a child so that I can bring him into this fabulous world where Newcastle have hope.

I'm trying not to let the hope build up too much, it's hard though. I've still got doubt as to what Ashleys true intentions are but I guess that's what his 10 years of ownership has caused.

No denial from Ryder:

Newcastle United for sale: Amanda Staveley and PCP Capital Partners set for bid after talks

Newcastle United chiefs have held further talks with PCP Partners and an NDA is expected to be signed soon

BY LEE RYDER08:07, 19 OCT 2017

Amanda Staveley is set to sign an non-disclosure agreement with Newcastle United and bid for the club that was put up for public sale on Monday.

It is understood that Staveley - as the Chronicle reported on Tuesday - has held constructive talks with the Magpies’ top brass .

Although, Newcastle told us yesterday that there was no information available regarding which parties the club have held talks with in recent times.

Staveley is spearheading the PCP Capital Partners group from the Middle East who are said to have control of a £28billion worth of funds.

Staveley value for NUFC

Our writers' verdict

Toon tycoon Mike Ashley is not thought to have agreed what the final price would be for Newcastle but is open to the idea of staggered payments for the “right buyer”.

It was reported earlier this year that Ashley would accept around £380-£400million for the club.

But claims from the capital yesterday suggested that Staveley valued the club at around £303.4million and there could be a further £150million to plough into investment on the field over the next couple of years.

Four other parties have signed NDAs with Newcastle officials and interest has also came in from China and the United States.

Obviously we might be getting ahead of ourselves BUT I disagree that it isn't enough

Firstly you consider that we currently spend a fraction of that and have done so under Ashley and secondly Rafa could do a hell of a lot with that sort of money

I think 4 solid signings (GK, LB, Striker and a 10) would be enough to comfortably push us into the top half and close enough to the top 6

I've already ordered my commemorative shirt with "Treble Winners 19/20" on it :frantic:

Is there a way in which Ashley can benefit from connections with the milf?  Desperately trying to think of a way in which he won't want to fuck this up

He's going to make 100 million quid profit plus get the 150 million returned he loaned the club.  He said he wasn't cash rich so 400 million quid in the bank is the only reason he is doing this.  He probably realised if he wanted a football club as a marketing tool he could buy someone like Burnley for a fraction of that.

Sorry to be thick but what exactly is a non disclosure agreement?

An agreement where sensitive data is handed over that is embargoed from public view under a legal agreement that you do not disclose it outside of the parties involved.

I get it about games releases, etc in my line of work.  For example I had to sign an NDA from Ubisoft about Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed and Mario Rabbids as they presented them in May this year before they were officially announced.

This response seems deftly aligned to the level of the question being asked

Where the fuck do you get that?

Why wouldn't it be that? Why would you say you'll invest X amount when a lot of that amount is already in the club? That's not investment.

If Ashley came out and say that he was going to invest £30m in transfer money in January, would you take that to be his wallpaper money?

Meanwhile, somewhere on a pub floor down South, Ashley and his merry men recover from another laughter filled heavy night on the sauce after feeding the media with untruths.    It's odds on with an excuse to feed Rafa when he goes with his cap for a January spend to blame 'The Takeover'

What's that now?  Is this a sequel or the 4th follow on?  Each one so predictable but blockbusters in their own right.

*goes off to a room with hands on ears....  THIS WONT HAPPEN. THIS WONT HAPPEN. THIS WONT HAPPEN......  :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic:

Listening to Totalsport this week, they have (allegedly) been getting a lot of texts basically starting to praise Ashley for some of the the things he's done at the club, and saying 'better the devil you know'.  :jesuswept:

Anyway, a lot of the talk has been about the times Ashley has 'put his hand in his pocket' to buy players.

That really annoys me, it seems there are people/pundits, etc who think that all the players we have signed have been paid for by Ashleys own money.... yet no-one seems to be pulling them up on this, and stating that the money we have spent is only what he has allowed to be spent from within the club, and when we have brought in huge fees for players sold.

Also, no-one seems mention the fact he could have simply bought the club, appointed proper football people who knew how to run a football club (not casino managers, and mates), and the totally unforgivable of appointing cheap free managers and has-beens like Kinnear and Pardew.

Lets hope the latest reports are accurate, as this seems to be gathering a bit of pace.

Still trying not to hold my breathe, but got to pray Ashley does finally want out, and a deal can be done by the turn of the year, in some form or other.
