And for all the criticism that Ashley has endured in the last few years, Dix still feels that the Toon owner can win fans over. He added: “I take my hat off to him. “It would be nice to acknowledge him publicly but he doesn’t give you the opportunity to do that. “What I would like him to do is expand on it (the club). “One of the two conversations I had with Mike I said to him, ‘Speculate to accumulate”. “They need to expand Newcastle, as a global name it could go right around the world. “They could be up there with Man United and Barcelona; if Mike wants to put the money in and expand, the world is his oyster.” you can tell this cunt gets a free seat

The club had planned to host a plush dinner at St James’ in aid of the club’s Foundation charity. However, it has been deemed inappropriate by club bosses with Newcastle struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League and still in danger of going down. A club statement read: “Newcastle United Football Club has made the very difficult decision that in view of the current league position, it would not be appropriate for the team and coaching staff to be celebrating the season and collecting awards at a time when our only focus is on the next two games and securing Premier League status. “The Club would like to extend its apologies for any inconvenience caused to those businesses who had purchased tables to support the event, but we hope that you can appreciate our decision has not been taken lightly. “The Club will work with the Foundation to find another opportunity to support them to raise funds for their outstanding work, which engages with over 50,000 people in our community.”
Mattoon
Public flogging, now that would be more appropriate and I'd make the 200 mile round trip and pay a premium price for that. All for good causes of course.

You hear about these events at other clubs but with us there always seemed to be references to player of the year (or rather last season's POTY) and no official announcement of them. It was never clear how or who voted for them.

Big Geordie
Makes me wonder if we do go down, that he'll just loan the club more money 'interest free' until we get back up, which increases his stranglehold. The fat fucker isn't stupid. He'll be banking on a brand new team getting us straight back up, with Carver as head coach. It happened in 2009/10- so there is his logic. LoveItIfWeBeatU
It will be very interesting to see what he does if we don't get relegated. No doubt the longer the Summer goes on, the quicker he'll forget all the "lessons learned" and "mistakes made". If we don't get relegated he needs to employ a decent manager quickly so they can get on with sorting out the mess. If the club dare come out with any statements about "calmly sticking to our plan"! Stay up or get relegated, people need to cancel their season tickets. Send a message that they aren't going to tolerate the appalling mismanagement of the club. Wallace
A boycott would have more of an impact in the Championship as gate receipts will have more significance with less TV money coming up.

geordiedean
This prick will have a big interest in 2 championship clubs next season...he really knows fuck all about football. He made 100m on shares just from labour not getting in and abolishing zero hours contracts. That 100m he made in 24 hours would make us a decent side, but no he has to be greedy the fat cunt. He smacks of the fat loner who was bullied in the playground. We'll be in danger of owing him more money than the club is worth. So by going down the price for the club would go up? The club is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it regardless of how much money Ashley has put in. And he'll only sell if he wants to. You can't have a tighter grip than what he already has.
