There are some people giving Spurs too much respect. They are a decent team but they arent a Man U/Chelski/Man City. They arent at that level as their two games against Man U and City showed.

We can beat anyone up here when we play and the crowd is rocking. Lets do the soft Southern Wankers.

I don't disagree with you, but tbf to Spurs they were missing Adebayor and Sandro for their games against the Manc clubs (and Modric against Man Utd) who are pretty key to them. Also, Dawson was playing. :scared:

Quotes from Pardew saying that there is going to be a lot of pace on one side of the pitch with Obertan and Bale there.

“You only have to look at one wing and you are going to have Gareth Bale flying down one way, and then we have Obertan’s pace on the same side going the other.

“That match-up alone should whet the appetite for most fans.”

Hmmmm Simpson and Obertan vs Assou-Ekotto and Bale.  Spurs fans must be drolling over this.

Dunno whos worse Simpson or Ekotto. Tiote will be drawn out towards Bale as he tends to V good quick wing players.

Different sides of the pitch, but Ekotto is a lot, lot better than Simpson. You're either deluded about Simpson's abilities, or haven't watched much of BAE the past couple of years.

Spot on.  Although at times I still see BAE have the odd game or moment where he looks utter shit, he's massively improved as a player and looks a real class act.

To be where we are now is an outstanding achievement, not just by the players, but by the staff I have around me. It sets us up for a real blue-riband game with Spurs who are far superior to us individually.

Pardew seems a bit of a risk-taker with some of his comments like. Nevertheless, I think he appears very honest which is great. A comment like that could have a detrimental effect on players, but ultimately it may get them to up their games and prove their real worth. As mentioned, it makes us the underdogs, not that we need our own managers comments for people to make us that these days like. Regardless though, it keeps expectations relatively low, but the back to the wall/come out fighting spirit high. This alone should see us come out at 200% both on and off the pitch. Tottenhams real task is to contain us for the first half an hour.

Cabaye is the key. He has obvious quality but sometimes he has lacked the consistency, gone missing for a half, or simply been worn out by his own efforts. This is where he hasn't yet adapted to this league. He is going to need to be bang on the money, as this will mean that Spurs have to play well to beat us. In that situation, it might take a moment of brilliance to get a goal, and Cabaye could offer us something in that department too.
