Norwich vs Newcastle - 10/12/11 - Pre Match Thread

If Pardew plays 2 full backs as centre backs we will lose, we will deserve to lose and he'd deserve a right lot of grief for doing so.

They'll do whatever they can to get Colo on the pitch.

:dowiespin:

What if there is no alternative?

Kadar is fit?

Is he match sharp? You're also neglecting the fact it's been stated several times in various press reports Kadar has been told to pull his socks up or his arse will be out the door sooner rather than later.

Frankly, a comment such as the above is nothing short of moronic.

Frankly, your comment is  moronic. If you have a fit centre half you have to play him. Playing one FB as a CB is asking for trouble, playing two guarantees it. They'll get pulled all over the place and at some point the oppo would be able to drive a double decker bus through the middle of us.

The defence is going to be crap in the absence of our three main men, full stop. To suggest we deserve to lose for not playing Kadar, who's fitness/attitude/sharpeness in question is madness. Whoever plays will be drilled throughout the week, we just need to hope the midfield takes the pressure off them.

Pardew set to turn to rookie as Newcastle's defensive crisis worsens

Alan Pardew could call upon a  21-year-old who doesn’t even have a first-team squad number in response to his defensive crisis this weekend.

The Newcastle boss may include Tamas Kadar in his match-day 18 for the trip to Norwich on Saturday after Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini were both injured in the defeat by Chelsea three days ago.

The Hungarian, who was signed in 2008, has seen his Newcastle career blighted by injuries. But he may get his chance because Taylor needs surgery on his achilles and is out for the season while captain Coloccini faces at least two weeks on the sidelines with a thigh strain.

Kadar is unlikely to start with James Perch, who came on against Chelsea, set to stay in central defence.

Mike Williamson, Pardew’s other recognised centre back, returned to training on Monday after a three-month battle with an ankle injury but is still not back to full fitness. A full back — Danny Simpson or Davide Santon — is more likely to start in the centre instead.

Think we'll see:

Krul

Santon Simpson Perch R.Taylor

Obertan Guthrie Cabaye Gutierrez

Ba Best

That leaves James Perch and Danny Simpson as the likely centre-back pairing for next weekend’s trip to Norwich, with Italy Under-21 international Davide Santon in line to play at right-back.

Just seen on .com that both Raylor & Simpson got booked at the weekend and now on 3 yellows,  a couple more bookings for either of them in the next few games and we are looking even more stretched at the back and to further stretch us we let Tavernier get cup tied so if he's needed in January when we play in the cup he won't be able to.

For me, Kadar is the best option.

For me as well, wouldn't want a fullback there, especially not one who's not even good enough at defending in his natural position. Simpson heading a ball? Backing all the way into goal probably.

At least they've got all week to work on it knowing it's going to happen, and don't have to come up with something during a game, or in case one of our better players doesn't quite make it. We're going to have to make something fit and there's no ifs or buts about it so I bet Pardew has already decided what we're going to do and we're already training as such. Small mercies.

Nah, the 2-3 surely?

Edit: Huntington f***ing scored, actually

The 3-1 in 2007? Beye, Faye, Cacapa, Jose Enrique.

That was at home.

JH's talking about the 3-2 at White Hart Lane.
