Guest fraser
f***ing hell, Shola captain. If ever there was a player that is least suitable for the role of captain bring them forth upon me. Suitability. He is a Geordie dedicated to the club. Who would you suggest were more suitable?

eliassenfredrik
who's likely to captain us tomorrow if Colo doesn't play? Shola if he starts? Shola will probably be captain if he starts. If not, can see Jonas being captain.

Cajun
Don't see an issue with Shola as captain, other than he looks lethargic. As others have said, he has been here for years, is a youth product, model pro, intelligent.

Ronaldo
who's likely to captain us tomorrow if Colo doesn't play? Shola if he starts? Cabaye. I honestly don't know why this keeps coming up. He's most certainly not a captain.
Stifler
What does it matter who's captain? Having captain is only really relevant for cup finals when they lift a trophy and in games when your captain can talk to a referee in appeal of a decision. Neither of these apply for this game. I'm pretty sure par dew will send messages directly to those who needs them and those who are in command of their area will speak in command of their area, ala Colo. Well tell me what the captain does in a usual game? Apart from leading the team out and a coin toss? The point I'm making is that no matter who captain tomorrow it won't effect the outcome. Guest Heneage
I'm pretty sure that was Rio Mavuba. He was captain when he played for the French youth teams mind you.
Smal
Nobody would've had Colo down as a captain during his early days at the club either, yet he seems to do a pretty good job of it now. Quite like the sound of Cabaye as captain myself
Si
Got a feeling/hope that Jonas will have a stormer, rested and with a point to prove. Still think with all the injuries that we've got this.
Alberto2005
Thinking this through there's a decent chance Coloccini and Santon may play, didn't someone earlier say Coloccini trained today? There's no guarantee he completed training but I was thinking if he was out then wouldn't he not train at all?

Agree with Stifler, as people have been saying on here recently, Shearer wore the captains band, but Speed did most of the talking. Doesnt matter jack who wears the captains armband to me.
