Was not following the match thread but was that disallowed goal according to the rule book or something the refs plucked out of their arses tonight?

Howe himself saying he'd need it explaining to him in terms of the rules, so I think we can safely say the latter.

The fact that they were showing replays of other parts of the goal showed that they were clueless. Can't wait to hear the explanation.

Everyone referring to Salah's goal vs Wolves being given when he was clearly offside from the initially pass.

I'm not a fan of Tierney anyway, but fucking hell that was so bad. Didn't mind him letting things flow but it went too far and Forest had a handful of dangerous obvious yellows.

The disallowed goal - following the rules or not - was obviously disgraceful as well

They explained in commentary that it's a subjective call on whether the 2 defenders played the ball or had it played off them.

So basically the officials went out of their way to chalk off a brilliant and unique goal. Just horrific, joyless men.

There's maybe 5% of an argument to be made on Felipes touch. None whatsoever on Niakhate's

It is worrying how every year we seem to get more of the "raising the bar" just for regular fouls and yellow cards. Against Wolves we had it exactly the same that defenders were basically manhandling Isak with both hands and getting away with it. Many refs seem content to do as little as possible and just let VAR deal with the "important stuff". They're just getting worse.

It's an awful decision, but it's the fact they've robbed Anderson of his first goal, Isak of an assist, and us all of Isak's skill, and a brilliant goal more than anything. Up there with that MacAllister goal they disallowed. Miserable cunts.

VAR is like when you play football at school when you're like 9 years old. You come up with new rules every time you make a mistake and the opponent scores a goal.

So the VAR referee could easily be replaced with a random kid from school.
