During the first half he was back near our own penalty box and the ball came at him from a height and with pace, now other players would have hooked the ball clear anywhere, he however obviously saw Guthrie in space some 40 yards to his right and played such a sublime ball. If we can keep him fit, starting and protect him, he could be mega massive for us. I personally feel he has made the difference in recent weeks. French commentators underlined it many times... What is the feeling in France wrt him getting in the squad for the Euros? Is the media making a case for him now he's starting games for us? Tiresias Posted April 1, 2012 Share Posted April 1, 2012 Heard someone say on football weekly he's unlikely even to make the euros because laurant blanc is notoriously lazy at going to watch players who may break into the team, and normally rather prefers to keep side settled. That and he's still got a reputation to shake off there. Would be shame, him behind benzema would certainly be formidable. Whether he'd be played with nasri and ribery behind benzema is to be seen, would be scary but wonder if would suffer from being narrow, which tends to happen when you try and cram multiple creative attacking midfielders into the same team. Now he is playing, so he plays better and better. Hatem just needed confidence and lacked some fitness, credit to pardew 10 per cent credit to ben arfa the rest. This lad is something special, it's great having that feeling of expectation and excitement whenever he's on the ball. His appearances are much followed in France of course. Lot of journalists talk about him when he makes good performances and think he should make the Euros considering the current French squad... Considering the French commentators, most (if not all) of them are behind him and only make positive remarks on him. Yeah, felt like we didn't come out with the same level of intent in the second and didn't look to go for it as much, instead looking to feel the game out a bit.
