David Icke - Son of God
Why do people have a perception that other players just stand and watch? In my eyes he keeps the ball too long when there is an obvious pass. For the first five minutes after he was introduced he was releasing the ball early and then quickly revert back to fannying on trying to beat half the Spurs team. The College Dropout
The least he could do is get in shape ffs. Talented footballer but I don't have much time for the lad personally tbh. Nothing worse to me than someone who doesn't even try to maximise their own potential. If Cabaye where still here I would be happy for him to sit on the bench with Siss/Gouff outwide. Maybe even Sammy if his application in training is superb.
Lotus
Where is this 'he's fat' thing coming from? He managed to out-sprint a few of the spurs players despite giving them a couple of yards start.

Aye, first 5 minutes we immediately improved after he came on but then got back to his lose the ball routine after taking on x players.
Spudil
Well you've got that totally wrong, congratulations. I post all the time about how much I love Hatem. Err, no. And the bold bit is, of course, irrelevant. If there were any sort of standards of debate upheld here you would have been killed a long time ago. Jeez, what a nob you are. Name calling? That's pretty low man but I'll forgive you - that's just what I'm like. I wouldn't sink to the level of name calling.

If you out-sprint most premier league footballers in a 40 yard dash like Hatem does, yeah that's a pretty fucking high standard of conditioning. TRon
Pardew needs to stop playing the lad and stick with players he trusts like Shola.

The College Dropout
This is probably the worst thread on the board. You have a player who is out of shape yet most people on here are blaming other people for this.

Bad enough that he doesn't have a grip on his player's nutrition and conditioning, but then he actually rewards them by giving them first team action. What a flake. Can someone point out the actual EVIDENCE that he's over weight and markedly short of fitness? I mean, something apart from rumours, obviously. KaKa
This guy is out of shape, and yet has more life in his body than twelve thousand Shola Ameobis. Yet Shola started countless games ahead of him. I just can't accept these excuses for messing this guy about. If we were a team of decathletes, then hey go ahead and keep him out until he leans up, but with Shola in there instead I can't accept it. No.
Guest Walter
How is he out of shape? He is probably our quickest player over 50 or 100 yards
KaKa
This Ben Arfa out of shape jargon is just a coping mechanism. Used to try and rationalise the actions of a blithering idiot.
hoppaz
How is he out of shape? He is probably our quickest player over 50 or 100 yards 100 yards is almost the length of the entire pitch man He has about a 5 metre burst of pace after that I wonder how anyone gets near him if he is so quick. His lack of fitness isnt about that its more to do with him being easily muscled off the ball and generally looking out of steam after a burst of pace. littlelunchbox
Why do people have a perception that other players just stand and watch? In my eyes he keeps the ball too long when there is an obvious pass. This exactly. Yet people in this thread will continue to make excuses for the boy until the cows come home. Funny that none of our other midfielders get the benefit of the same excuses. There's not movement around him, been told to do too much, wrong tactics, no one to pass to, it's Pardew's fault, he's in the same squad as Shola. Imagine those applied to someone like Jonas.
