Dave
Can't see much wrong with what he said there tbh, part from the somewhat cringeworthy use of 'over the line'. Not like people on this board to go overboard about absolutely nothing.. That's the only reason I posted it btw, and in this thread.
thenige
Agree with Willow, would also be nice if these threads got back on topic rather than every one eventually being sidetracked either to club, Pardew or Ashley dissatisfaction.

Guest chopey
Its a managers job to build the team up along with the fans and the area, like it or not we all like our egos massaged and Keegan was a master at it. Pardew has a knack of taking everything down to his level to protect his failings. I dont like the way he puts us on a pedestal with the likes of Southampton, West Brom and Fulham to lower our expectations when all fans want to do is dream. mrmojorisin75
I don't know about anybody else, but I've got nothing against Pardew personally, I just want to see us producing some good football. Despite not having the ideal owner, my opinion is that he's failed to get the best out of the players at his disposal. They might not be good enough for Europe but they should certainly not be a relegation threatened team. The football he's produced has been poor and so my opinion of him is poor. Even if we sign Gomis I can see him turning out lop-sided teams that struggle to string two passes together. That doesn't mean I want us to fail, just that I think he's clueless. If we do well then I'm happy to concede that I was wrong. perhaps the best i've seen it put

captainhaircut
From the Teamtalk paper review: Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear has been offered wing wonder Jefferson Montero - but Crystal Palace lead the chase for the Ecuador ace. (Daily Star). If we're going to play 4-5-1/4-3-3 and can't get Gomis, I wouldn't mind us signing two wingers. Remy or Cisse up front, 2 of Hatem, Gouffran or one of the two wingers wide. But could never wear the jersey of Lille ... If she did not want to hear about it starting a few days ago, the Yankee management has since revised its position ensures Canal +. I must say that the Danes, like their coach René Girard, quickly realized it would be very difficult to rely on a player who now has the dumps them, and that even comes to fear the reactions of Lille supporters against him ... Under these conditions, the LOSC seems to have resolved to let him go before the end of the transfer window. Good news for Newcastle But not any conditions. On the one hand, the world champion under 20 years will not be sold for less than 10 million. And secondly, Thauvin will make a cross on the OM, Lille is not intending to transfer to another club in Ligue 1. The attacking midfielder could therefore finally wear the colors of Newcastle this season. The Magpies have already indicated their interest in Thauvin the Danes. The question is whether, now that the door is open, the player and his representatives accept the proposed deal. Meanwhile, on the side of Marseille, it provides remain alert on this issue. Mick
The guy's going mental now. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2396331/Newcastle-spent-try-money-isnt-Man-City.html As if the stark contrast in form and financial circumstances are not bad enough, Newcastle also have to contend with a poor history of visits to City. 'I don’t think there is a mental barrier. We have never done well against them,’ admitted Pardew. 'We’ve played in patches, but never over an entire game. I think if we are going to get a result then that’s what we need to do. 'We have beaten all the big teams – Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool – or at least taken points from them. 'City are the one team against whom we haven’t got over the line, so it would be fantastic to bury that one as well.' WTF? The blokes a moron. Hope JFK can persuade them we are the better choice (once he gets out of the pub of course) Luckily for us Lille don't seem to want to sell to anyone in France, so we have a little advantage there. It maybe an unpopular opinion but i would much rather someone like Thauvin over a striker if i had to choose, someone who can give width and take players on is desperately lacking more so than a striker IMO. Obviously should be getting both though.
