cp40
People have underestimate Ashley for a long time. He may look like a beer swigging lager lout on the terraces in a Mag shirt but there is a reason why Sports Direct and the Mags (After it took him some time to initially learn the business) are doing so well. Easy to put it down to luck but there is some significant judgement in there too. And Short is better. Dr.Spaceman
PERSUASIVE Martin O’Neill has convinced Carlos Cueller to join him at Sunderland, making it the second time he has signed the classy Spaniard. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/sunderland-afc/2012/07/01/sunderland-move-to-clinch-defender-carlos-cueller-79310-31295894/ No wonder they signed him. Guest Recoba
It's not even funny how bad he is at signing players The funny part is that they think he's great at it. He is just not aware of football outside Britain. Foreign players he signed at Villa: Beye (Newcastle) Petrov (Celtic - and Barnes signed him originally for Celtic, he was never a MONG find) Cuellar - Rangers Downing, Young and Milner were all good signings, but all cost around £10 million each. All sold for around double though, so good effort there, but only Young was in any way a punt. He would never have signed Sessegnon, undoubtedly their best player. Minhosa
Cuellar is such a typical signing for the Mackems for where they are now. Ageing, will demand top dollar and never really been a top player. He's such a MoN signing it's untrue. I'm delighted they're picking up players like this. If MoN spits the dummy out (which is inevitable at some stage) he's going to leave them saddled with an overrated, overpaid bunch of players with no resale value between them. His reign will take some getting over. He's going to leave them worse than Bruce did at this rate.
Neil
Cuellar. Honestly, that really is the most predictable signing of the entire summer.
loki679
They're going to have quite an old back line if they're planning to go with Brown, O'Shea and Cuellar.
Neil
Will Cuellar manage to dislodge Brown and O'Shea's Champions League medals? Or are they playing at left back?
Unbelievable
Will Cuellar manage to dislodge Brown and O'Shea's Champions League medals? Or are they playing at left back? Knowing MON he will probably sign a decente full back or two and play Cuellar at RB anyway.
STM
I'm gutted, really hoped we might sign Cuellar. Debuchy really didn't convince me during the Euro's, plus there is no chance in him joining us.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Will Cuellar manage to dislodge Brown and O'Shea's Champions League medals? Or are they playing at left back? Probably in the middle with Brown. Think O'Shea spent most of the year at full back.
