Zero
Would love to have seen the reaction if that was Cattermole going in on Ben Arfa "well he got to the ball first, was just a bit silly" Life jail minimum charge I guess. It is not the first time Debuchy makes dangerous tackle. Cowardice may be appropriate tbh.
Guest firetotheworks
He was never anywhere near their player, never touched him and got both feet to the ball. I understand why he got sent off but think it's s*** because it wasn't even a foul and their player is still standing up on his feet as he was nowhere near the tackle. It honestly doesn't matter whether he was a yard away from the player and got the ball. Absolutely everyone knows the rules. Going in two footed off the ground is an automatic red card. It's as clear as they come as well.

mozy
The rules are wrong They're not. The 'intent' rule is a load of shit. When the ball is won first, and cleanly it should not be a foul, regardless of the tackle.

When the ball is won first, and cleanly it should not be a foul, regardless of the tackle. Even if he had slid through, gotten ball first, and snapped the opponent's ankle? MKSC
As soon as I saw him leave the ground in the reverse superman pose I took a sharp intake of breath. Needless, reckless and stupid. He's lucky that the other player didn't even make a half arsed attempt at the ball (probably because he saw a frenchman attempting to break the sound barrier screaming towards him) or it could have been a leg breaker. If that was done on one of our players there would be a lynch mob out in force, especially if it was Catts for me or Larsson that did it.
mozy
That wouldn't be cleanly though? I'm not arguing that it isn't a red card, let me make that clear!

You really need to have a look at yourself and how you see football, because if you cant see what is wrong with that tackle football isn't for you. Klaus
I knew he was too good to be true i still love the bloke mind, really thought a player with his experience would be able to show more discipline however.

mozy
It just annoys me when I see 'intent' branded about. There is no intent to hurt the player with 99% of tackles, what there is, is a player that wants to win the ball back for his team. It was just unfortunate the ball happened to be bouncing and was just out of reach. Is it a red card? Yes Is it stupid? Yes Was there intent to hurt hum? Pata
There's just no reason to go in two-footed like that. Always amazed when I see that and laugh at the idiots. It's never even a freekick if he goes in with the same speed but only uses one leg.
Wil
Been brilliant, but fucked up today. Two footed and studs showing, inevitable red.

If he'd cleaned the kid out fair enough, but he never touched him. Nah. There's no place for that type of challenge in the modern game. It shouldn't be attempted and therefore does not need any interpretation. You do it, red card and it's just. Teaches players (of all ages) not to attempt those tackles. Next time you'll break someone's leg.
The College Dropout
Still love Debuchy mind. He's the type of lad to get carried away and that's just what happened. He'll pick up many more cards while he's here. I hope it's yellows rather than reds.
Lotus
Very, very silly. Could have gone in with just one foot and won the ball.
