Final fee will be 5.5, that's my guess.

And MA probably manages to get £4 mill for Simpson too. It shouldn't be possibly to strengthened a position so insanely with such minimal outlay..

Why do people react this way every time? You bid low, and work your way up. Or you bid low, wait and play brinkmanship. Either way you don't start with a massive bid - some of you must be shit at haggling. Never go to a Moroccan market!

Exactly. There's ages left in this transfer window, most clubs wont even think about moving until the end of the Euros. Absolutely no problem with dipping our toe in the water.

The point about dealing the price is obvious, but it is still something of an insulting bid given that he is currently starring for France and that Lille have just received fifty million euro for a player.

.com are saying the bid was 'well before' the Euros started. Also theres no point in discussing the fee received for Hazard at all in this case, its completely different. Quite why you think a bid of £4m is that insulting given his club are reportedly asking for about £6.7m though?  ???

Edit: Been said countless times too but its even less insulting considering thats £4m up front as opposed to getting £2.5m or so a year over 2/3 years.

Agree, and remember we pay everything up front, which can make an apparently smaller bid more attractive then a larger one that's paid over a few years.

£4/5Mill up front versus a £6 mill bid that's £2 Mill up front and £1 Mill a year for 4 years, for example. The up front amount gives Lille (or whoever) more buying power themselves if they, in turn, structure purchases over time.

The point was more that they wouldn't need the money at this point in time, especially for a blooming French international, who is currently in the spotlight and under contract for several more seasons.

That blooming French international has openly said he will sort his future soon, its blooming obvious that he will leave just as its blooming obvious that we were going to start bidding under their alleged asking price. Seriously cant see your issue at all here. Again the point that the bid was BEFORE this spotlight is lost on you.

I don't think he'll do that, but we must have had good signs from him and/or his agent considering he's still away with France and said only the other day that he wasn't considering his future until after the Euros.

Phillipe Auclair said on talksport around 2:45pm that Debauchy, like Cabaye has a release clause in his contract but Lille might not sell as they don't need the money after selling Hazard
