Guest bimpy474
Ahhh Niall Hickman.......when on Talksport said Sunderland are better than us in every department after a few weeks of last season.....what a cunt he is.
Guest Recoba
£5 million sounds about right. Can't see anyone paying more for a non-international, playing in Holland, with a year left on his deal, who has no interest in staying at Twente. I am aware if he had the Dutch citizenship already, he would likely have played in the Euros. But he dosn't and didn't so £5 million seems right. Revolution
Sounds as if the Express has good links to our club so would be in a good position to get an exclusive but I'm not really 'convinced' for whatever reason
Magpie
'On another positive note, the Dutch national manager has publicly stated that he is looking forward to having the option of selecting Douglas once he is eligible in September, though seeing Holland in the World Cup you can certainly understand why he is looking desperately for alternatives' Which manager would that be? The one that's just resigned?

Unbelievable
Yes on both counts. Was Van Marwijk in 2009.

Cajun
Hope it's true, full back and centre back were the priorities for me then replacing anyone who leaves (Guthrie and looking like Best).

Guest sicko2ndbest
There is a real lack of any investigative journalism from the local hacks! Can't believe they havnt gone to town on these latest links Ryder, Douglas and Cameron are a disgrace tbf
Sifu
Really hope this is true. £5 million is a reasonable fee and Douglas is just the player we need. A Colo-Douglas CB partnership would be brilliant and they would complement each other very nicely. Plus, with Saylor and Williamson as backup, think we'll be alright for options at CB (with Streete and [potentially] Good in there too, if need be). The Prophet
What do people want man? All we have is some ridiculously lazy piece from the Express to indicate a bid has actually been accepted. Like most of these slapdash pieces I'll be taking it with a pinch of salt until there's an genuine development.

Dave
Although weekend reports suggested a £5m bid for de Jong’s club-mate Douglas has been accepted, The Journal understands negotiations to land the Brazilian-born centre-back are still some way off completion.
