sunderland 1 - 1 Newcastle United - 21/10/12 - post-match reaction from page 39

We seem to be playing far too deep.  Massive gap between the midfield and attack and very little movement.

Game's finished man.

I'm talking about the way we've played this season, not just this game.

I know, poor atempt at humour!

This is very bittersweet, but it's a decent result.

No it isn't, unless you want bottom half that is.

We have been f*cking crap all season, Pardew needs to sort it out ffs

We played an hour there with ten men man. Get a grip.

I'm talking about the whole situation, 10 points from 8 games simply is not good enough.

No you weren't, you were responding to "decent result", which given the circumstances it is.

Positives: Ba, Santon, Coloccini, Krul and HBA all performed admirably.

Tiote needs to get his act together. He's getting paid a truck load of money, be professional.

Negatives: Referee, Jonas, Simpson backing off macshit all the time

aye i noticed that second half as well

we were clearing the ball up field with nobody there to take it

not a bad game but not a good one either.

Tiote's sending off was shite and really made it a tougher game for us, pardew wants to have a word i think

Colo defo man of the match for me

when he came off I started getting worried.

jonas was rubbish as well today.

Demba worked his socks off, and its a real shame we had nobody else far enough up the pitch to support him

Feel the same way I did after Pardew's first derby... would have taken the point before hand but gutted the way we did :(

Yeah reminds me of that game as well. When Gyan got that flukey equaliser in the last minute. This is probably easier to take though given our numerical disadvantage. Still could easily have won though.

Incredible really why we dropped so deep. I don´t understand it. The one thing that has been a big sore achilles heel for us this season has been defending set pieces. We invited them to set camp outside our box, which resultet in many free kicks and corners. I knew we would concede on one of them, and surely we did.

Another thing is the fact that Sunderland has some great shooters in Larsson, Gardener and Vaughan.

No, it was quite funny now I look at it but wasn't in the frame of mind to get the joke ;)  Just feels like we're throwing it away by playing in a defensive formation.  Nothing wrong with losing if you do your best and give it a go, it's when I feel we're hamstringing ourselves before we even kick off that I get pissed off.
