Is this for real??? Do they actually think that's how it works and all they need to pay is the first instalment? Thick as fuck if so.

Weren't we paying for players that where no longer at the club for a while? Rings a bell.

Aye, part of the due diligence that Fat Mike didn't bother with.

Spurs will be doing the same for a long time with this deal. Still, it's only £6m a season which is peanuts for them, especially while they are in the CL.

Surely if they sell him they have to sell on the remainder of the money owed to us as well. What about that do they not get?! No top club in their right mind is going to touch him.

No. They owe us money, they can't transfer the debt.

If you buy something in installments but you sell it before the final payments.... you still owe the money.

Of course they can transfer the debt, but it'd take a lot away from their incoming transfer fee.

That doesn't make any sense.

The sale of the football player Moussa Sissoko is between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspurs. Not a third party. Tottenham have to pay us. It can be a thing where the buying club has to effectively pay us - but it will be Spurs making the payment.

They could do a similar arrangement with whoever they sell him to so effectively the new club are covering the instalments to us. But I'm not sure that could happen as the fee will be much, much lower than Spurs paid.

Ok. But Spurs will pay us. Nobody else. That's not transferring moneys owed. However its financed - Spurs are paying Newcastle £30m for Moussa Sissoko.

And for all the wrong Ashley, Carr and co have done, this one piece of their work is genius.

£55M for him and Wijnaldum really is incredible.

To be fair I've seen Wijnaldum getting some good comments from Liverpool fans recently. There's a good player in there, unlike Moussa who is just a bit of pace and power and very little intelligence or technical ability.

I wonder who is in for him. I'd guess West Brom.

i was thinking someone like fat sham would be in for him, an italian side would make sense in some respects because his driving runs would cause chaos over there but on the other hand his touch is so fucking shit he'd probably rarely have the ball to be able to run with it

Having watched Geoffrey Kondogbia's comical attempts at playing football for Inter, Sissoko would be a liablity at one of the decent Serie A sides.

His style of play is perfectly suited the Premier League. Just closer to some middling club, like West Brom, or Stoke. Or us of the last 5 years, tbh.
