Massive error by Rafa to play him on the left. We ended up with Townsend looking a complete tosser dribbling the ball across the park to get to the left which completely negated our right side which has previously been our only source of service to the strikers. I don't know what Rafa's game plan was but we don't have enough games for players to learn alien tactics. We looked totally confused and ended up killing our one decent attacking wing.

Is it him wanting to split up Janmaat and Sissoko?  Who do leave us dreadfully exposed, with how attacking they both are.  Or is it because he wants us to be more compact and have guys naturally drifting infield?

I don't get it, though.  Whilst Rafa is clearly a very good manager and it was hardly like we were putting in great performances, with Sissoko on the right and someone else, possibly a lefty, on the left.  It doesn't make a lot of sense, to me.  Especially when you consider his comments about getting service and crosses in for Mitrovic.

Either way, despite their flaws.  You're spot on about our right side.  We used to actually cause problems and create, as it was the only place we created chances from.

This big Moose goes yet another game without a goal or assist. It is an incredible run of ineptness. Can we just put him in central midfield for goodness sake. Can't be worse than anyone else playing there. Absolutely infuriating.

Statistically atrocious for us. He's a fundamental reason we're fucked and he'll blitz off into the sunset as soon as we're gone.

Wherever he goes, I'll happily drive the cunt. And that includes China, Russia, Qatar, Turkey.

Which is inevitably where this sackless shite will end up plying his trade.

How many times does the camera pan to Sissoko after losing the ball to see him with an emotionless face.

If only he talked on the pitch as much as he does in the French press. Lazy donkey.

Moussa Sissoko has revealed he is focused on nothing but achieving Premier League survival with Newcastle United.

There’s no mention of the Champions League, or even the impending Euro 2016 tournament in his native France.

Instead, Sissoko talks about how this season hasn’t gone the way he wanted for United, but still feels there’s enough time to salvage some pride from the last six games.

Many have questioned Sissoko’s attitude and performances this season.

But in a world of boot deals, image rights and huge opportunities for players these days, you just get the feeling if he didn’t care at all about what happened this season, he wouldn’t be sitting talking to a local newspaper.

One thing that is clear about Sissoko is that this torrid campaign has hurt him.

You can hear that in his voice, but Sissoko is desperate to make amends and has asked his team-mates to dust themselves down and fight for their Premier League lives.

For all the suggestions that some of United’s players will want to quit the club, Sissoko he is only looking at the task in hand.

He told the Chronicle: “The most important thing as a footballer is the next game that is coming.

“You use the time to prepare for the game and the next one is Swansea.

“We need to do everything to win this game.

“If we win it can be massive for us because Sunderland play at Norwich.

“Somebody is going to lose points and we can make a step forward into the right direction.

“It’s a massive game for everybody - but we must make sure win.

“We have to prepare but I am sure we will be ready for Swansea.

“Now, we know with six games left and we have to give everything. You can’t go beyond the next game.

“It’s game by game for us, it’s six finals. You try to win the first, then the second and so on - that’s it.”

Sissoko has played in 31 of Newcastle’s 32 Premier League games this season.

He’s managed five assists but has failed to score in what has so far been his least productive campaign in terms of goals since arriving from Toulouse in 2013.

Sissoko reflected: “For me the most important thing is that the team wins.

“If I score or somebody else does, I’m happy. I like to score and give assists.”

After a short pause he then confessed: “This season I have not done what I want to do, but it’s not finished yet. We have six games left.

“So I hope I will score some goals before the end and give some assists.

“But the main thing is we win games.

“If I play well and somebody else scores that’s also good for me.”

When Sissoko arrived at Newcastle he spoke of wanting to emulate Patrick Vieira in the Premier League.

But this season he’s barely been used in his preferred position.

Although, Sissoko explained he’d always put the team first and play out of position if asked by the manager.

He said: “Everybody knows my best position is centre midfield.

“This season I have played on the side and when the new manager came he used me as left-back or right-back because of a lot of injuries.

“We have had to try to do something because of those injuries.

“I try to do my best every game. Some time you don’t play well.

“I know when I have played well or not.

“But even if I am playing bad I give 100% for this team.”

For Sissoko that starts with this weekend’s clash with Swansea.

And he didn’t need to be told what’s at stake if Newcastle stutter again.

He said: “I want to stay in the Premier League, I know what it means for me, my family and everyone.

“I also have the national team so if I want to be in the squad I need to give everything to be in the Premier League.

“If we are in the Championship it will be trouble for everyone, we’ll have lost so much.

“Therefore we have to focus on staying in the Premier League.”
